Wooden Squirrel Feeder

Nice squirrel feeder this is now our 2nd one, may be getting a 3rd ! ,well made , lid is light enough for them to lift but not too light for the wind to open it. Good price, came very well packaged and delivered quickly. Little ones like to sit inside but can easly push up lid to get out.Good size platform for them to balance on , took them a day to work out they had to lift the lid, we have a lot of red squirrels in our garden so once one mastered it they all followed, at first we placed a few peanuts on the platform and on the edge, so as to wedged the lid open to teach them they have to reach inside the box. Also caught our local pine Martan using it . Would recommend 👌

Item is sturdy with a water proof lid but rest appears to be untreated pine so unsure how long it would last - It would benefit from having a more sturdy plastic viewing area - squirells simply pushed through it. Tip- I had to hold top slightly open with a twig to train squirrel to open the lid.

I have quite a few of these along my back fence now and the squirrels love them and I love watching them. I also find if I keep them topped up the squirrels stay away from the bird table & feeders which is a bonus. As you can see, the smallest squirrels sometimes get into the box so they can have a turn without being chased off by the larger squirrels. It’s worth having a few spaced out as the squirrels are quite territorial and a few of them seem to take ownership of a particular box.

It’s made well , but not suitable for the squirrel

We have red squirrels in our garden which we feed every day. I wanted something special for my sister so she could get them in her garden. Squirrel feeder has done the trick.

I have now owned 5 spuirrel feeders and every one was demolished by 2 reasons, The squirrels and the rain. This is a very well built Squirrel feeder with a rain protecting covered lid to prevent rain rot. The clear plastic window is held in place by a rotating wooden spar. You rotate the spar to remove the glass. There is also a drain hole in the base of the nut box in case of any water ingress. If there is any fault to be found with this feeder it is the cheap screws holding the rotating spar in place, that will break easily. That plus the unprotected screw slot that hangs it to the wall. The Squirrel could easily break this feeder away from the wall. Having said that, this is by far and away the best Squirrel feeder we have ever had, and it is one of the cheapest available. I would buy it again.

Unfortunately this item has arrived in very poor condition,it has a huge split in the base,the lid does not close and is bent and overall just looks in very poor condition I have raised this with the seller but yet to have any response back

The quality was reasonable and I thought the design was good. Most squirrels were very quick to figure it out and it's been great watching then learn from each other. Unfortunately one not so smart squirrel tried to get to the nuts through the front and quickly caused a lot of damage. I patched it up and it seemed to do the job but it's no longer looking so pretty. The squirrels have now learnt to fully open the lid, which means the nuts get all wet and start to rot. However another patch job redesign has resolved that issue.I love watching the squirrels and this feeder has attracted a lot. Now I know all the flaws, I will probably buy a new one, paint it to waterproof it, put some metal around the front to protect from chewing and protect the perspex window, and put a restricter on it to stop the lid being opened fully. The patched up one is perfectly functional but it could be prettier.

Taket är en aning för tungt för vissa ekorrar.Även nötskrikorna lär sig snabbt hur det hela fungerar.

Bonne qualité, et tout mignon. Nous avons hâte de le mettre en place pour observer les écureuils.
