Great tool for the $
Other reviewers have covered how great these are I just wanted to make a couple notes after I got these in after seeing this brand featured on Project Farm’ YouTube channel. The packaging. Lots of actual Japanese products are packaged lightly because they don’t worry about theft the way we do in the US where things are welded shut in plastic. I love it. It’s easy to open, but yes it’s not super sturdy. The gap. Mine has a gap too when you close the tool. With the precision of everything else on this tool, that clearly is intentional. I thought, well, how often do you pick up something like a piece of paper with needle nose pliers? So I tried it. The gap is so thin it will actually grab and hold a piece of standard printer paper.I’m not going to rush out to replace all my tools with these, but if I lose another pair of pliers the replacement will surely be Tsunoda.

Money well spent upon first impressions.
I’m giving this tool a 5 star review not because of the packaging, but due to the overall quality this item holds over lesser items sold in the U.S. that are Chinese/Taiwanese/Indian—really anything other than U.S. or Japanese made, save for a few other select brands. The grips feel good, and has an attractive color that isn’t obnoxious, yet light enough for one to find if misplaced on a job. The snips are appropriately sharp; the teeth, clean (there is one small imperfection on the teeth, but it is superficial, and will not effect the overall performance), and the steel is milled to near perfection. Looking at this piece makes me not want to use it, it’s so beautiful, haha. The packaging it came in, however, left something to be desired. The plastic around the tip was chipped, leaving a fairly large hole, while there was a large crack across the middle, and chip on the bottom right corner. I wonder, or rather hope, that this all happened during shipping, and had not been sitting like this in a warehouse for an extended period of time. Regardless, there are no signs of rust, oxidation, or other blemishes on the tool upon removing it from its packaging. And, unlike how tools are packaged in hardware stores in the U.S., this tool came out with no hassle. As a side note, these clearly have been sitting for some time, as many imported goods tend to do down at Amazon.I will later update this review, or write a new one so we can all see how it holds up over time while being used on the regular as a security systems installment tool.I’ve included a Chinese pair of 6 in. pliers for comparison. Notice the difference.

Bushido tier
After watching Todd on Project Farm do a video comparison on pliers, I figured whay not try a few pairs of Tsunodas. What can I say...if everything was still made with this level of bushido quality or old school American quality, the world would be a better place. The grip on the handle is smooth and soft yet firm and sturdy. The sharpening on the wire cutting lower portion of the teeth is precise and the serrations on the needle nose end are dangerously accurate. I just received these but am confident they will last for a long time. Skip harbor freight, get a pair of Tsunodas.

Excellent long nose pliers.
Fit, finish, function. The real deal- very nicely crafted pliers, and I'm a bit of a tool snob. This is my second set of pliers from Tsunoda, I bought the 8" duckbills and was very happy with those as well. I'll not hesitate to buy this brand again.

Good Japanese Quality
Like most tools made in Japan, these are quite good quality. Jaws and hinge are tight and cutting edges align perfectly. The 8" length gives some extra reach which I find useful often.

A decent pair of pliers at a reasonable price.
These are a basic set of pliers that get the job done. There's no spring, and no overly padded or bulky handle. They fit nicely and feel good in the hand. The jaws align well when closed and grip all but the smallest item.

Jaws don't meet - blades close before jaws can close
There's a gap between the jaws when fully closed. The cutting blades meet before the jaws have closed. That renders these pretty much useless.Returned.
