desertcart.com: Cien años de soledad / One Hundred Years of Solitude (Spanish Edition): 9780307474728: García Márquez, Gabriel: Books Review: One of the best books I have ever read - I don't think Garcia Marquez needs a review or introduction. To read any of his books is simply a pleasure. Easy, delicious reading where at least once in each paragraph will be a striking sentence. Those sentences have either lovely descriptions of things or people that one wishes one had thought of it before. It seems natural and obvious and perfectly described. To say something like "The world was so recent that many things lacked names, and in order to indicate them it was necessary to point" requires such imagination and lovely eloquence. The description of ice for example: "When it was opened by the giant, the chest gave off a glacial exhalation. Inside there was only an enormous, transparent block with infinite internal needles in which the light of the sunset was broken up into colored stars". "Arcadio, had seen her many times working in her parents’ small food store but he had never taken a good look at her because she had that rare virtue of never existing completely except at the opportune moment" (I know people like that! ;-) You end the book with a happy exhausted feeling that only great books (or great movies, concerts) can give you (way there with Steinbeck's East of Eden and possibly above Dumas' Three Musketeers). For those who think that the stories are too far fetched, they need to learn a little about Colombian/South American history; the massacre of the bananeras is a real chapter in Colombia's life. Yellow butterflies fill up certain places in the Colombian Caribbean after the rains. Visiting Magdalena province, the little towns and the beaches will prove very pleasurable after reading hundred years of solitude. Or perhaps, visiting the places and then reading the book may even be a greater pleasure. I simply love the book! Review: Must read book!!!! - GGM is such an amazing author! The imagination and story he is able to tell in his own way is unequalled!

Captivating Content, Packaging Falls Short
I recently purchased this book and I must say, the content itself is absolutely fantastic. The author's insights and storytelling are captivating, making it a must-read for anyone interested in the subject matter. However, I was quite disappointed when I received the book. The hardcover came with noticeable damage – the corners were broken and folded. It's clear that the issue is with the packaging, as the book's contents are impeccable. Overall, a fantastic book that deserves all the praise, marred only by the unfortunate packaging issues.

100000/10! ❤️
