This travel Scrabble set has been a perfect addition to our family trips! All the pieces, including the letter holders, fit neatly inside the case, which zips up for easy storage and transport. The letter tiles are small, but not too small, so both kids and adults can play comfortably. My 9- and 12-year-olds love playing it, and it’s a fun way for them to practice spelling at the same time. We’ve used it at the dinner table on cruises and during downtime on vacations like in the airport. It’s compact, convenient, and fun, so I highly recommend for families on the go!

This is a replacement for a decades-old travel Scrabble set. The construction is good, the case zips closed and there's enough room in there for a few dice and Yahtzee scorecards. As a Scrabble game the tiles are pretty small, which is a fair tradeoff for the convenient size. The tiles adhere well to the board, and if you stop mid-game your rack of tiles can be snapped closed and secured to the back of the game board so the letters remain secret and available to resume later. I find the rack difficult to use during the game, and instead use anything handy as a screen to keep them secret. That's not enough of a negative to deduct a star from the review score.

Tiles do stay in place even when closing and storing the game. The tile trays close and so even the tile trays can be put away with tiles in them. So a partly finished game can be just put away. The text on the board is kind of small. but it is a travel game and lap sized so is as expected. I don't see anywhere that says you can order replacement tiles when/if any of them become lost. That to me is sort of a big deal. I guess if you loose a tile you have to order a whole new game?

My favorite game can now travel with me. Great gift for scrabble enthusiasts. Nice quality!

I bought this to replace the identical product that I had for years, when I tried playing it recently after a couple years of not traveling and discovered I had no blank tiles...which then led to counting the tiles and determining I was missing about 15! That's the basis of the warning in the title of this review. It's a travel kit, so naturally, pieces are small and easy to lose along the way, so just be careful about making sure you're putting everything away correctly when you close it up. Great way to play Scrabble when away from home. I docked it one star because the travel case should have better built in storage for the paper and pencils you'll obviously need to keep score while playing. It's annoying to clean up the tiles when done because of the grid that holds the tiles in place, but that's obviously intentional and good since it is a travel kit that will be subject to bumps in the road and turbulence, so no stars taken off for that.

Just received our travel scrabble board. We are very pleased with this travel game board. It seems very sturdy with a strong zipper. It holds everything within the zippered board; the board, the trays, the bag of tiles, the instructions, the score sheet pad and a place for 2 pencils. It will be easy to throw into a travel or rolling bag. The game board snaps into place and stays open nicely. The tiles do not come out when placed--which does mean when you are done with the game, they have to be removed one by one. But isn't that the point? The tiles should stay in place during play. You can leave your game in play and snap it shut and zip up for later. So convenient! The trays have a lid to cover the tiles and then you can slide the tray into place on the back of the game board. We are excited to have this for a long plane ride coming up. I did notice at least one tile was stamped a bit low, so when sitting in the tile tray, you couldn't see the entire letter. Oh well, not a game changer. We are definitely happy with this purchase. My son said, it's amazing!

We use it not only on flights, but at home relaxing in the den! Because the tiles snap into place, it's easy to pass it around. If you need to, you can also store your unfinished game and tile holders securely until you're ready to finish. Although we have the full size Deluxe Scrabble, we find that we most often choose to use this Travel version simply because we don't need to be at a table to play. Fun way to introduce our 10 y/o grandson to the classic game-- our family regularly has "game nights" and the grandson is always excited to come over to join in on a "grownup" game! Perfect for road trips and helps limits so much screen time

Plusses: Game is compact, self-contained, and has its own nice case. Letters are big enough to read. Makes it easy to to stop in the middle of a game, because pieces stay in place on the board and in the players' racks. Great for playing at an airport while awaiting a flight. Minuses: Tiles are hard to handle, awkward to push into the board, and way too easy to drop and lose. DON'T play on an airplane, because if you drop a piece, you are unlikely to find it. The racks are small and difficult to open.

Ordered yesterday and received today ! Secured tiles on board make it possible to play in any conditions. Great hobby to pass time on planes or during boring visitations, Nothing to stop you from playing alone to build up your vocabulary.

The racks for unused letters are still a tricky proposition, and the size, though smaller, is not as compact as older versions. The same holding mechanism that the board has would give greater peace of mind that pieces won't spill everywhere while trying to decide a word on the run. After a few weeks of using it, I think the older magnetic versions still have the edge in the portability stakes.

I like it...😊 the tiles fit perfectly fine and there will be less mess with it..it's so convenient to carry anywhere

The quality is good, but the casing is too big and bulky. Makes putting it in the hand luggage too troublesome.
