The hook is smooth and does slide over the yarn easy, it is a very easy handle to hold and work with. The handle is round which fits the hand and takes the stress off your hand and wrist. Looks to be made of good quality and long lasting for many years if I can keep the pups away from it. They have chewed up my last two plastic ends and I refused to buy another whole bag of difference size needles when I only needed this size lol. The plastic or rubber seems to be stronger than the other ones I have bought. It might just hold up if the pup does get a hold of it. I am very happy with this one so I bought another one to set back just in case.

I usually can't crochet for more than 20 minutes and then my finger joints start aching. But with these crochet hooks, I'm able to crochet for hours---or until I start getting bored! The pastel set is steel hooks, the tiny ones that you use for crocheting with fine threads. There's also a neon set , which is extra-large hooks for working with very thick yarn. I promise these are better- the drag or roughness on the neck near the hook is so low, they glide through the yarn. If you're new to crochet invest in these amazing hooks. One of my favorite hooks; the color makes it easy to keep track of, the hook performs like butter which adds speed to my technique, it’s also got the really nice rubbery type handle, it’s just a good hook. It’s a great size to have multiple of.

This ergonomic crochet hook is much better than the one I was using before. My hand hurts a lot when I'm working, probably because I'm holding the hook too tight. But this larger handle doesn't hurt to hold while working. The size is carved into the handle so it shouldn't rub off. The hook is rounded at the end to easily slide through tiny holes. The neck of this hook doesn't narrow like my old one, but I haven't had any trouble getting through the holes. The metal hook goes all the way through the handle. However, after crocheting with this book for several months, the metal hook began sliding out of the silicone holder mm by mm. It was easy to push it back in, but a month or so after that, the metal snapped just below the top of the sleeve. I glued it back together with E6000 glue, but it hasn't dried yet to test the fix.

Clover crochet hooks are the best crochet hook I have ever used. So smooth, no catching of the yarn at all. Highly recommend.
