This book describes her spiritual journey as she evolved from abuse, tragedy, and illness. The poetry and prose are an extra bonus.Against incredible odds the Author educated herself. Master's degree in Social Work, licensed independent clinical social worker, licensed alcohol & drug counselor and more. The list is much longer, but having worked in a large Psych practice for over 20 years ,I know her credentials are impressive considering the pressure she was under while working on these degrees.The author peels back the layers of years of pain thus allowing me to get in touch with my own buried layers, savoring each chapter as her healing spilled over into my life. There is so much to digest, take in, and mull over as the Author shares her feelings, fears, and anxieties; her own and the people she works with as well as the people who support her.I was absolutely amazed at the Author's ability to travel to the edge of her human tragedies. The telling of the authors painful experiences is detailed, sincere, and revealing, as is her ability to reframe it all and put a different spin on it.We all need "unlearning" and connection with our true Spiritual beings. Being able to look within has changed my perception of without.Life: the magical roller coaster that is never ending has provided equal amounts of loss and gain.Just a few thoughts that stayed with me.My life has had its fair share of shame and guilt: I call it "Schmilt". After reading this book I feel hopeful. It is very timely and necessary in a world of wounded and hurting people.One last thought:Don't pass up this book, open your heart to the knowledge within the pages. For me it helped remedy the damage and suffering fostered by the dark complex twist of life.How very brave of this author to let the readers into her most private world.
