Has anyone used this to travel on AA? Was it allowed on the plane?

Not on AA but I used it a week ago on Alaska Airlines. No problem- fit under the seat and between the seats. I would choose an isle seat as it was a bit tight.

(Reworded), Can you make one where the lever or pull, is on the shorter edge, going the same direction the dog normally faces, versus the current way?

That would work nicely too for larger pets - hope they make one!
