Waterproof GPS Active Antenna, Magnetic Base, 28dB Gain, 3-5VDC, SMA

I purchased this antenna as a replacement for a failed GPS unit. The dealer's replacement cost was nearly ten times higher, so I decided to give this product a try. Works GREAT . . . need this to replace most non-amp GPS antennas (which may not have enough gain to really work).

Using with a Pi hat for GPS-based time sync. Works great. Feels higher quality than the crappy antenna that came stock and kept breaking due to fairly gentle movement/coiling.

This is a fine unit. Seems like it would be water resistant (not going to test that!) and be fairly robust. Nice SMA connector. Pulls in signals very nicely. As a side note, this is NOT a dual band GNSS antenna. It will only pick up GPS and GLONASS not Galileo. It did not pretend do, so this is no fault of the unit. Dual band antennas tend to be much pricier.

I installed an aftermarket android headunit in my 2011 wrx. Driving around nyc can be challenging for the stock gps to get a strong signal. Sometimes it takes minutes to get a lock. After installing this item, the headunit gets a location lock within the first 15 secs (on average) sometimes quicker depending on surrounding buildings. The only time I’ve noticed my location drift is when I’m using the lower level of the George Washington Bridge. My new headunit also now shows that I’m able to link to 3-4 more satellites with improved signal strength overall; this is on same area(s) that I frequent while driving. Well worth it!

Compre un GPS integrado para el coche y le costaba mucho coger satélites (cuando los cogía, que era muy rara vez). Leí en un foro que a similar problema, un cambio de antena de GSP lo solucionó. DIcho y hecho. Funciona perfectamente. Coge los satélites muy rápido y no he vuelto a tener problemas para navegar, incluso entre edificios en calles relativamente estrechas....muy recomendable.

I use this with a ublox M9N receiver in my car. It's perfect for that use. Cable is pretty thin helping to route it via the trunk lid w/o putting holes in my car.

A prescindere dalla spedizione super veloce di Amazon che ormai è una certezza fenomenale... L'antenna si è davvero fatta bene, ottimi materiali, dotata di calamita e strato adesivo per il fissaggio. Non abitando in una zona ottima per la ricezione del segnle GPS, devo dire che quest'antenna riesce a collegarsi a 9 satelliti nell'arco di circa 20 secondi... che dire.. super soddisfatto!!!!!!

I bought this GPS antenna to replace my failing cheap Chinese poop antenna fitted with the vehicle head unit and was surprised by the results. The base is magnetic to allow the GPS antenna to be mounted on the outside of the vehicle, although I have magnetically stuck it on the inside of the van roof and it picks up the GPS almost instantly. The old antenna took several seconds and gave up if not found before starting the journey. This GPS antenna is also amplified to provide a stronger signal to the sat nav but obviously you still need to be within the range of GPS signals. Amplification doesn't overcome a poor GPS reception area. Generally, I am impressed by the performance of this device for the money and would definitely recommend. Downside, it comes from the States so potentially takes 2+ weeks for delivery.
