Sharpening made easy
Item was received in good order and on time. can't comment on the guided sharpening attachment as I have not used it. The blade grinding attachment works great. easy to set up and change belts on. after sharpening about 20-25 knives inc everything from pocket knife to kitchen knives to machete to hunting knives I will say it works very well. Take your time and let the machine do the work as you progress through the different belts and you will get an edge that slices right through thin store ad paper and will shave the hair off your arm.

Easier than a whetstone
I'm considering the Tormek sharpening system (t8), but the price is a bit steep to just "try". Decided to give this a shot as I have some home knives that I have zero interest sharpening on my whetstones. They are in rough shape.Started with the roughest grit and worked my way up to the finest grit (didn't do the strop tho).Angle is set at 25 degrees. The knives are probably aus10 or vg5, fairly cheap set of home knives. Did roughly 8-10 passes on each side on each grit. It didn't feel that sharp (vs my work knives) but the cutting performance has drastically improved.Fairly easy to use, once I figured out how to change the belt without removing the setup from the motor. Will try the other attachment later on some knives that need thinning. It's better than most electric sharpeners, (imo they aren't very good to begin with). If you're in the market for an electric sharpener, this is the way.Is it worth the price tag though? If you like keeping your knife sharp (makes cooking more enjoyable) and don't want to get involved with whetstones, this isn't a bad option. Is it better than whetstones? I don't think so. It would also depend on the knife (various shapes out there) and types of metal the knife is made out of.I don't think these are great options for powdered steel knives, I'll try thinning my SG2 single bevel knife later to see.I wouldn't use this indoors, it dusts a decent bit if you do more than one knife. And it's kinda loud, like a blender on high, but maybe quieter than a hand sander. My biggest gripe though is the lack of case/container. I'll have to get something to hold everything.

Works great
Great tool for sharpening knives and other items. I've just started using it so I don't have a great deal of experience but it has worked well on those knives I've sharpened.

Works as shown and if you follow instructions you will be sucessful.
Works great. I appreciate having the two different modules. I even touched up the edge on two of my 20-year-old ceramic knives. I like the angle guide. I am currently looking for diamond belts, as I have several that I use for lapidary work, which would help with the final polish. I did buy several leather strops and have some diamond paste, which I will try next.

Glad bought the Ken Onion set
These are great. I'm glad I bought both, and not just the first one. They have different uses, so bight the bullet, and buy the set. The motor has plenty of power, is quiet and runs really smooth so it doesn't around the work top. Watch the YouTube videos and you'll figure out how to use it. You will find it sharpens every knife in your kitchen in a very short time. It's almost anticlimactic. If your going to sharpen lawn mower blades. your better off buying a designated 1 inch belt sander. The motor will be heavier as well as the whole tool. The Ken onion belts are well made, and I haven't had to buy any new ones yet. Any knife at, or under the size of a kitchen knife will work well. Just don't over work the tool and it will last a long time.
