Apple 2024 iMac All-in-One Desktop Computer with M4 chip with 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU: Built for Apple Intelligence, 24-inch Retina Display, 16GB Unified Memory, 256GB SSD Storage; SilverEPEAT

I bought this 2024 24" M4 to replace a 2017 intel-based iMac that, frankly, was a dog. It never seemed "right." I've been a Mac user since 1986 and the intel-based Mac was the worst performer I've had. This M4 iMac blows the doors off the old machine. It's pretty awesome. It's fast, responsive and nimble. (Sounds like I'm describing a car). To be fair, the 2017 model was underpowered with only 8 GB of RAM. I bumped this one to 16 GB of RAM and it shows. I'm a little concerned about the lack of storage (512 GB SSD) but I've off-loaded my pictures and a lot of other stuff to iCloud and I back-up religiously to a 2TB external drive. Going forward I'm going to be more vigilant about clearing the junk off this machine, too.Mac's are not cheap but I've never had one die. I bet if I plugged in my old SE 20 from '86 it would boot up. That's value.I'm brand loyal, so if I get a product that performs above my expectations, I'm in. Some people don't want to be tied to Apple's ecosystem and I get that but I'm willing to put up with some minor annoyances to get products (desktops, laptops, phones, tablets, etc.) that function up to, and beyond, my expectations. If you know, you know.Not sure yet if this is a great machine but so far, it's checking all the right boxes.

Love it. My first apple computer and it’s perfect for what I need. It has been a game changer for me.

Finally replaced my 2019 vintage iMac. This new machine is incredibly fast even with tons of windows open. Bigger and better in every way (except storage - easily solved by using an external non-SSD drive for media). Apple continues to make a great product. Amazon happened to be selling at a $150 discount when I was doing my research, and I got an additional 5% in rewards points using my PRIME card.

Purchased to replace 10-year old 27-Inch iMac from 2015. It was easy to set up from a Time Machine back-up. This new iMac is fast and compact. The screen resolution is great. Would highly recommend.

This replaced a 9 yo 27” iMac. Terrific machine. Got it with smallish 512 gb internal SSD (bought a Crucial 2 tb external SSD to increase storage) and 24 gb of RAM.

The changes to this version of the iMac are great. The only issue is the finger print verification doesn’t work. The SSD with the new 16 GB of memory are incredibly fast

This would likely be a 5 Star review, but since I transferred a large amount of very old data from my old computer, I've been having issues. I don't know if the issues are related to the new OS or if the issues stem from my browsers or from certain websites. What's frustrating is I can't get any answer from anyone, anywhere, so I suppose I'm taking it out on the new iMac. That said, it's an impressive new machine. Just be prepared to purchase USB A to USB C adapter(s) so you can connect your external devices to the new Thunderbolt C ports.
