Great alternative
These are a great alternative for anyone who wants to get rid of mice but not see them suffer on the sticky traps. I always hated when they would get stuck on those and then squeak and cry. I thought they were cruel. These are super easy to set and use. Very effective. I caught and released three in a row and haven't had any more since. You just have to make sure you take them out to field away from your house so they don't come right back in. Easy to release. I wear disposable gloves when I handle them since mice can carry germs. Freaked me out at first to pick up the trap with a live mouse in it but they are secure until you pull the release door. Has little air holes for the mouse. Not for everyone but great for those who don't want the mice but don't want to kill them.

Yes, they work and are immensely humane (Troubleshooting TIps)
Humane is the only way. I modified how I set these by putting a piece of bread with peanut butter into the chamber, not into the piece that slides out. The piece is small enough to not set off the trap, lures them in, then keeps them calm, until you release. There is ample space for them and air holes. Most mice came shortly around 9 pm and/or 2-3 in the morning, so I did go out frequently, as I did not want to leave them inside. I also used a stick to hold the door open and let them out, which was also quicker. They do need to be released FAR away. *I did not like the clean up when putting pb into the piece that removes, thus, adapted it. Worked and rescued 10 mice and will be purchasing more to keep out regularly. If you use, share your experience with others who cause harm to these little creatures just doing what is natural for them and a food source for wildlife.

I love these mousetraps and they work GREAT!
So far weve caught about 6 or 7 mice. It feels good to be able to catch them and take them out into the woods and let them go without having to kill them. I respect all life and while i dont want them in our house i still believe they have the right to live. Which is why i picked these instead of lethal traps. This is the first time using anything like this and i have to say im pleasantly surprised at how great they work. Its also really easy to set the trap. You just press the door down and it auto locks and is ready to be set wherever you want to try to catch mice.My only issue with it is the bait area is kind of hard to clean. Its on the back of the trap and you just about need a special bottle brush or something to get down in there good to wash it. I guess you could set it in the dishwasher but that seems kind of gross to me so ill just handwash it lol.Seriously though these things work great. I bought two sets of them and every one has caught at least one mouse. We are using peanut butter currently but cheese works well too. Its just that the peanutbutter doesnt dry out and turn into plastic bricks and have to be changed out after a day or two.

Caught the mice! But pinched their tails.
Love that the mice were caught live, and relatively safely. It was very simple to bait and set up the traps as well as release the mice once caught. We got humane traps because we wanted to release the mice in nearby woods, which we were able to do. However, the trap is so sensitive it snapped shut on the miceโs tails. I didnโt notice it with the first mouse right away, and Iโm sure it had to hurt to have his tail stuck in the door. They are difficult to wash, which is a bit unfortunate. There was mouse poop stuck underneath the internal platform the mouse stands on.

Great Mouse Trap
I love these mouse traps, I am back here on Amazon to order more, and I am only ordering more because I don't want to clean them after catching many mice and the mess that causes, otherwise these are the best mouse traps I have used. I have caught several mice, we have a field mouse problem - the house next door has been empty for a while and I think that is where all these mice are coming from. I tried another mousetrap, the black one I got at a store, and the mice run right past it, I have watched them. This one caught four mice in one night (yes, I was up all night catching and releasing), I was so thankful. And it has continued to catch mice regularly, yes, some have caught their tails and I felt very sorry for them but they were alive and fine (no visible injury on their tail) when I released them. This weekend we went out of town and I forgot to close the traps before we left (didn't want a mouse to get trapped and die) and it did catch a mouse but luckily the mouse was alive and appeared to be healthy when I released it - and it was a big one and it had to be getting enough air to survive. But that is why I am tossing the trap because the mouse was in the trap for quite a while and it was a mess that I didn't want to clean. Great traps and I am so grateful that they work as good as they do.

IT WORKS!!!!!
I hate killing any living creature but I also don't want mice in my house. I don't like chasing my cats when they catch one, either.I placed the traps by the dishwasher, where my cats sit in wait for mice. I added a few hulled sunflower bits and I would check the traps in the morning. In two days I had the first one, a few days later another. A week went by and I had caught a third. The trap works very well and there is nothing to picking up the see-thru trap and relocating the guys to another area away from the house. To release the mouse, you only need to click open the door and off it goes.I received two types of traps. The one pictured above with the rounded top is best. The one with a pointed pitched roof, that looks like a house, did not work well. The end kept falling off very easily, one was broken when it arrived and another one gave me problems trying to reset it. I had NO problems with the rounded top ones pictured above.

Trap door trigger
At first these traps worked great but the trap door trigger breaks off easily or the mouse chews it off. I ordered these traps and one of the trap door trigger broke within 2 days. Amazon sent me a replacement and after I received those I was to mail back the one I didn't need. Before I mailed that one back the one I needed broke. So I kept the other one and within a few days that one the trap door trigger broke off too. Im not sure if I just got a bad bunch or what but I don't like the product.

Works if you tape it to the floor.
*UPDATESaw evidence of a new rodent. put this out but taped to the floor with duct tape. Caught a mouse and across the river it went. Hope to catch more if there are any.*I purchased these because I was having trouble catching a house mouse in our previous live catch trap. It was a seesaw type trap. The night before these arrived I had modified it with a penny for added weight and managed to catch the mouse. Took it across the river to a park and put these out with bait in the main chamber instead of the bait chamber so I'd know if something took the bait and it just didn't trigger. For weeks I didn't catch anything until we did some moving things in the garage. Next thing I know, I see this trap moved/ tipped over, bait gone and a poo left as a present. I thought this was a very sensitive trap, but I guess not. Tried the penny trick with this and also put out some snap traps and those were useless as well.

Best mouse trap
Much to the horror of my SO she saw a mouse run across the kitchen door. Tried a conventional trap bated with peanut butter; Three or four days in a row our mouse managed to eat the peanut butter without the anfticipated consequences. Decided to try the "humane" trap and caught the little demon first try. Anyone have an idea on how to dispose of him "humenely"?

Best Live Traps for Field Mice!
These live traps are great! I have field mice in my house and because they are so small & light, they rarely if ever trigger traps. They are also infamous chewers and will chew through live traps with in an hour of being caught. Since setting these traps up, which is VERY easy to do, I have caught several.Though cleaning is a little bit of a pain in the tush, I found soaking them in hot soapy water for a bit works great and they dry quickly on their own.The only negative about these traps is one mouse did end up getting their tail caught in the door which was upsetting to see. Luckily for the mouse, it had only been about 15/20 mins before I checked the trap after it had been set.If you have field mice, I strongly suggest using these traps. Also, for bait that is cleaner and easier to load in the small bait compartment, I use a bit of the hamster food. These traps are safe, easy to use and clean.

Caught on first night!
Set up the mouse trap (incorrectly but still worked) near the place we found the mouse storing food. He was caught the first night and we released back into the wild in the morning. Totally recommended. Love how nothing required chemicals or killing. I realised the next morning I placed the peanut butter in the wrong place but it still worked!
