Fixed my battery back up!!
I’ve had an APC battery back up that I bought from Blockbuster way back when. I finally got around to looking at it and decided to take a chance and buy a battery for it. It works great. The package also is set up for returning your old battery. The website didn’t work right, but customer support was excellent and they emailed me a shipping label. I also bought new nee APC battery back ups for other projects. I’m impressed with their build qualty and customer support.

Works well!
These seem to last three years in my APC SmartUPS 750, which I feel is reasonable. This is the third one I bought.I had to remove the harness and circuit breaker from the old battery set to install on the new. See photo. In the past that harness was included. I suggest always saving that harness for possible future use.

Best Battery For APC Smart UPS
We've tried non APC batteries in the 15 APC UPS we have and we found that they just aren't worth the price difference from REAL APC batteries. The other brands rarely last 2 years. The APC brand last twice that long, and longer. The other brands would swell up and make it hard to even remove from the UPS. Not so with the APC brand. Sure they would eventually go bad but it wasn't a battle to change the. Use APC brand and save yourself the problems.

Batteries were dead and do not appear to be trusted
These batteries were purchased for a APC charger. Rather than purchase generics, I purchased what appeared to be OEM brand replacement batteries. The batteries arrived and even after being left in the charger for 3 days with no load, they would not take a charge (with no load on the UPS) and allow the UPS to power up without failing the initial test. I finally removed the batteries and used an automatic automotive charger that has the ability to charge dead/depleted batteries. After an initial charge on that showed 2 dead APC batteries but it was able to bring up their voltage. I have installed them in the UPS at this point and it will power up past the self-test. I have not at this point attached equipment to them to see if they will run off-line.

WARNING: Not an APC battery as claimed in the photo
Be careful. This is represented as a APC replacement and shows an APC battery in the photo but is actually an ABC (American Battery Company) battery. I thought I was buying the OEM battery from APC. Its not the first time I've replaced this battery in my Smart-UPS 700 but it is the first time that it completely failed. I know I installed and charged it correctly and the UPS just has every light flashing on it now when this battery is installed. Hopefully, the battery did not damage the UPS or I'll have to replace it. They do not accept return so lets see how they handle my request for replacement of a working battery for my UPS.

Perfect!
I have had problems with aftermarket batteries for the UPS these batteries go in (a SmartUPS 700) with lug size and short life so this time I went out of my way to make sure I got actual APC batteries. These batteries arrived double-boxed and the box inside was obviously made to ship this exact battery. The battery set arrived with an expected 2 inch long connector that is standard and connects the two contacts nearest each other. The picture shown in the ad shows long leads connected to these same battery posts and that really should be updated to not confuse other people buying this battery. Your UPS should already have two long leads that connect to the remaining positive and negative posts on the battery set.Buy this set with confidence for the APC SmartUPS 700 and other APC UPS's that require the RBC5 pack.

Perfect factory replacement, but is factory part necessary?
This is a factory replacement battery for an APC UPS. It is a piece of cake to install and fits my unit perfectly. It is shipped in a very nice molded Styrofoam protected box to ship undamaged.Would a non-factory less-expensive equivalent done as well? Probably, but I did not want to take a chance because this was for my work. My hunch is that if you order an off-brand battery with the same electrical specs and same terminals and same or slightly smaller dimensions, you'll be fine.I have ordered generic replacement sealed lead-acid batteries before without any problems. The only negative I encountered with generics is that they were not packaged well and had little chips of plastic banged off some of the corners. Not enough damage to effect performance, but you might want to inquire about your vendor's shipping container.

Perfect fit. Let's see how many years it lasts ...
Received a genuine OEM APC RBC5. Perfect fit. My SmartUPS 700 powered up with the new battery without any issues. The charge indicator showed one light out of five. Within about 5 hours, the battery was completely charged. Let's see how many years it lasts and if it swells up at the end of life. The previous RBC5 that I am now replacing, made by American Battery Company, lasted about 3 years, but it swelled badly and it was very difficult to remove from the UPS (had to use hand tools to bend the L brackets that ride over the top of the battery to add extra clearance for the distorted RBC5 case to slide out).

According to manufacturers APC, this item (RBC11) should consist of two separate batteries, and indeed that is what is shown in the product image. However only one battery was delivered. I returned the package and Amazon organised a replacement. Again, only one battery was delivered. I rejected this and asked for a refund.

Dafür sollte man eigentlich zwei Sterne Abzug geben.
