New Fenwall igniter control module arrived in bag in new condition and works!
The new Fenwall igniter control module arrived in a bag in new condition. Swapped out old Fenwall with the new Fenwall into a Pentair Max E Therm pool heater as the pool heater was simply not igniting. After replacing the Fenwall, I started up the pool heater once again and confirmed that the pool heater was able to ignite.After reading Brian W's February 12, 2016 review/comment, I opened up the casing for the older Fenwall igniter control module and observed that the same solder joint had been severed as was shown in Brian W's photos. I'll use this as an opportunity to solder back the severed joint with a soldering iron and keep the older Fenwall as a backup igniter control module.

Fixed My Heater, But...
Easy to install, but the part appeared used. Used or not, it fixed my heater.

Good, but fixable
Works as advertised. After pulling the defective one apart though it seems easy enough to fix. Their is a solder joint that burns up on the terminals leading to the hot surface igniter. Attached is a photo showing two separate burned out ignition modules with the same solder joint severed. It is the joint that sends the voltage to the igniter. These two modules burnt out because the heat ex-changer leaked and flooded the combustion chamber. When water got to the hot surface igniter it was destroyed and wiped out the ignition control module via ground.

Check your connectors
The local pool supply wanted over a grand for the ignition module for a minimal NT 250. This one worked, but I had to take my connectors off the old board and put them on this one, about a half hour solder job if you know how. There is also no connection on this one for my flame sensor, so that’s just not connected but it is working. Took two days but my 20k gallon pool went from 65°F to 85°F.
