A workshop in book form!
This is one of my favorite books from authors Chung and Peh. I keep a pencil and paper handy because this reads like a workbook. The authors clearly explain how trigrams and hexagrams are constructed, read, and interpreted. To get the most from this book, you'll want a resource that details I Ching hexagram meanings. For this, I use Dr. Chung's book, "Succeed Naturally, The I Ching Way."

Useful with four pillar system.. watch out of the hour pillar
I found that when calculating online, that i got different results on my hour pillar to my chart depending on who's software I used. It is important that if you were born near (within 30 minutes) the cusp of an hour (1, 3, 5, etc...), that you make sure you get the right hour as this can make a huge difference in which hexagram you receive. Many sites do not account for daylight savings time or longitude correctly. And sometimes you may be born in a city that is in between longitudes (like -52.5 West, for example)... which sometimes can change the hour pillar you are in).I found the description for calculating the chosen ID line to be confusing. I think I read a forum where another user had similar issues. It would be helpful if there were more examples of this in the book and a better explanation in the description. There were 2 places in the calculation of the chosen ID where there is possible ambiguity in interpretation in what he said - one being the yang chart where he does not elaborate where the yin line rules get reversed so that the yang lines must be first taken or whether it is the yin lines that must be taken first, for example. I was only able to resolve this ambiguity by downloading software that calculated the hexagrams for me.Overall, I found the system to be useful in determining the rough location of where life's challenges (such as job loss) could be within a 6 to 9 period timeline in one's life. Less accurate I suspect is the yearly and monthly predictions. It is not that they aren't accurate, it is that they are just to vague to be predictive in how the hexagram will manifest. The ordinary 4 pillar chart or even chinese/western astrology is more useful, imo.The book could have been written better, imo, if the author had repeatedly redrawn some of the charts when describing a process. This prevents the user from having to flip back and forth between pages to see what they were talking about. This book is a useful addition, but does not replace other methods to be used in calculating ones future (such as 4 pillars and 10 gods system, or ordinary 4 pillars, and chinese astrology). Again, the most accurate and useful feature of this system seems to be the Heaven, Earth, and Fame Prime flows and the counter flows in relation to one's chart, imo. I would not count on the interpretations given in the book of the negative or positive effect of the flow to be entirely accurate.. but roughly predictive of when something "Good" or "bad" may happen. For example, when one negative flow happened during my life previously, the book interpreted as skin/foot issues. But I did not have any problems with skin/foot. I did lose some money in the stock market though, as an example, during that time period.

It is the first book, which for me in detail how to get a life hexagram. Well explained! The author should add the calculation an the corresponding tables in the book, so one has not to referr to other publications.

Bazi afficionados will love this one..
The Astrology of I Ching numerology sequences worked out with examples. Another collaboration translating Lilly Chung's material from Chinese. The third in a series and one of the best set of Four Pillars or Bazi divination systems.
