I am not a shill, :D A good product, I'd buy it again
I like the product with reservations. It is worth every penny I paid for it. The head band expands the ear cups rotate nearly 90 degrees so you can put one ear to the cup and listen without "wearing" the headset. Nice...The connector is the traditional 3.5MM and they incude an extension/splitter so the microphone can be split off to a separate dedicated mic input. Nice.... And in the process the wired-only (no bluetooth) headset now has a 10 foot range so I can standup, and stretch to the wall to flip on/off the overhead lights, etc. Nice...** I ** find the headphones are comfortable, the sound quality is pretty good for the price, but then my hearing is not longer "audiophile" quality. The ear cups definitely reduce the ambient noise (when the wife is chatting and I want to do some gaming). There is a volume control on the left side ear piece above the cord which ranges down to completely off. And right above the volume control is a make break/on/off switch for the microphone. The microphone is a flexible boom of about 3 inches which is detachable. The design is excellent. The construction and materials are quite good for a reasonably inexpensive cost.Summary, low cost, really good quality for the price. If you wanted to pay $200 or more you can get better. If all you want to do is run a few team instances in your favorite game and talk to your team mates or a bit of light listening to some music it is perfect at the price.I'd buy this Steelseries headphone again.SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wired Gaming Headset – Detachable Clearcast Microphone – Lightweight Steel-Reinforced Headband – for PC, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Lite, Mobile

Really good gaming headset but uncomfortable (PS4 edition)
This is my first gaming headset and it's 100x times better than the cheap headset and earbuds I was using before. On top of that, the microphone is really good. When I used the headphones the first time, my friends immediately commented on the noticeably superior quality voice quality from my end. The sound quality is also good for gaming. Though I wouldn't advise that this be your go to headphones for music or other activities, it definitely serves its purpose for gaming well. The bass is lacking a little bit which means that music will not be as enjoyable to listen to.In the box, the headphones come with a built in wired standard 3.5mm audio output jack. The detachable mic can also be attached to an open slot on the side of the microphone (can be seen in the picture). There is also another adapter wire which I don't use so can't comment on it.Lastly, the headphones are not super comfortable. If there's one place where they can be knocked is the fact that the cushions are not very large so even for my larger ears, the hard interior presses on the ears and can cause discomfort. If you're wearing the headset for a while (an hour or more), you will start to feel pressure on your ears which can cause slight pain. I was a little disappointed with this due to the otherwise solid quality for the price.

Nearly perfect headset for the absolute perfect price.
These things look pretty sleek and sound great. Every review I read and watched (and I went through a ton of them) said they were super comfy. I think they feel a little tight on my ears, but they feel more secure than other bulkier headsets. These have a nice low profile and the detachable mic is great when you're looking to listen music or something on your phone out in public. At first I kind of wished the volume controls and mute button were attached to the wire instead of the ear cup, but once I got used to the location I wouldn't have it any other way. They are largely plastic and don't feel like they are the most durable headset. Before these I had a set of MPow Eg3 Pros, which felt far more durable, but we're also far bulkier, less comfortable, and didn't sound as good. The microphone is great, it feels like it's a bit on the short side, but it's crystal clear.Don't bother with the console specific versions. From what I understand the only difference is the pattern on the fabric inside the ear cups, and usually cost more. At the time of this writing, the non-console specific version was $10 cheaper. Are these worth $50? It's a tough call, but I'd say yes.Are these worth $40? It's a no brainer. You won't get a better deal. You can spring for the wireless version for an extra $40-$50. They seem to have a few extra bells and whistles but ultimately you could probably do better for $80-$100.I don't mind a wire, so these are nearly perfect for me.

It fits my head!
The one issue I have had with the majority of the headsets I have purchased in the last 20 years has been their size. My head is a bit larger than normal and I have struggled to find headsets that are comfortable wear or will stand up to daily use without breaking. The Arctis fits my head and fits over my ears comfortably. The slides are made of metal which seems to be more durable when compared to the plastic slides I have found on most brands. The sound quality isn't as good as some other brands I have tried, but for the price point, the Arctis 1 is good. The passive noise cancellation provided by the ear pieces that fit completely over my ears, which is unusual, is very good.Thank you SteelSeries!
