Value Cut Above the Rest: WUTA Bevelers Take Leathercraft to the Next Level
As an hobbyist leather worker, I'm always on the hunt for tools that can help take my projects to the next level at a reasonable price. When I was just starting out, I came across the WUTA Edge Skiving Beveler set and decided, based on price alone, to give them a try. Here's why I feel the these bevelers are something special: The Pros: Cuts clean, precise beveled edges consistently Made of high carbon steel so they hold an edge well Available in multiple widths (0.8mm, 1mm, 1.2mm) to tackle thin and thicker widths Ergonomic wooden handles are comfortable The Cons: If you're not careful, the sharp tips can dig into the edges Can take some practice to get perfectly straight lines Need occasional sharpening to keep blades sharp After just a few test runs on scrap leather, I found myself able to regularly cut rounded edges with ease. When sharp, the carbon steel blades glide through leather like butter, giving me the rounded edges on wallets, sheaths, straps and other projects. Although there are better edgers available, I don't there are any that compete in this price range. If you want to step up your leather beveling and burnishing game, these WUTA beveler tools are a great choice. Their blades, multiple width options, and comfortable handles have made edges easier than ever. I can't recommend them highly enough for for beginner to intermediate leatherworkers. These bevelers cut above their pay grade!

Great Tool for my Leather Lineup
Sharp right out of the bag! Came with a sharpening tool & paper—no instructions how to sharpen, but it’s easy enough to find a video online to walk you through it. For the price, it’s excellent! Wish I would’ve ordered it months ago. I bought the 1.4 to use on a 8-9oz veg tan belt that I braided & used as a purse handle—rounded my edges perfectly & cut through it like butter! Love it!

Pretty decent for the price
These bevelers worked better than my old ones, but they did come a bit dull and I had to sharpen them. Only real downside is that they sometimes leave creases in the leather. I would recommend these

Get em
Out the box these puppies came to play... the bevel the edges like butter. I was surprised due to Wuta japanese knives needing tlc before they became great performers (skiving). 3 of them didn't have any resistance at all (size 1,2,& 4) and the one that did was very minimal. After stroping them all they were ready and out perform my expectations for 28 dollars. If I were to nit pick, they felt kinda "cheap" since they didn't have much weight to them. But for the price, these puppies gets it going. I would recommend them to anybody, the only reason I see not getting them is if you wanted to get some luxury tools like charter made or palosantos.

Sharp!
It came sharp right out of the package. It beveled my 10 oz veg tanned leather like a hot knife through butter.

okay with "but's"... added a star back...
I came back and changed one star to three, since they work nicely and I wanted to be fair, since I'll no doubt use them at least as backups. Pros: Carbon steel holds adequate edge. They work nice even for a beginner. Cons: First, one of the four edge bevelers had a virtually missing front prong. Zero quality control out the door on that item of they'd have noticed it at half a glance. Then I thought, "well, maybe it will not matter..." then I realize all four completely unnecessarily have a groove on the bottom, not just the top, requiring a special tool to sharpen (craft tool kind they look like require only flat sandpaper). They send you an insulting rod and sandpaper that will only fit one of four ends at best. This was an affront and disappointing and had me emotionally leave 1 star at first. So they got $18 more out of me for the special sharpener required if you use them much. Add that to the price and drawer space. I don't know... maybe being grooved on the bottom guides it a little better, or it's a design patent bob n' weave of design...? Overall: I wound up ordering the craft tool kind elsewhere as my mains but these have value and will work. NOTE, though: these sizes are a bit smaller so when someone says they use a craft tool "3" in a video, it's not the same size in the Wuta exactly. Wutas are a size smaller, I'd say, at least. The cutting edge in a little rounded but the end result is the same, really.

Waste of money
Not a useful tool, difficult to use no matter how much I try. If you’re looking for an edge beveler pay extra and make sure the throat of the beveler is long and sharp

All four size
I bought all four sizes the edge beveller it comes with a 2mm METAL ROD and a 800 grid sandpaper for sharpening. I have not used it till now so I don’t know how the edges will hold up after some use. Watch the video 🤭

Item not as described
The item is described as 4 edge bevelled yet only 3 arrived and to confuse matters the package states 2 as shown in the photo. There was rust on all three as shown in the photo. I didn't bother trying them for sharpness so won't comment on that. Very disappointed though and sent them back for a refund.

Sizes not posted on site. Would have been helpful, as they duplicated one I already had.
Sharp, and tips protected with plastic.
