I'll say upfront that this is the best all-in-one AC unit I've ever bought, on account on simply being the quietest. I was a little put off by the bathroom- dryer aesthetic at first, but it turns out that having a chunk of solid plastic in front (instead of a clip- on grill) turns down the rattle to ZERO. The sound isolation is also very good in general: the compressor sits on rubber pads and the foam blocks street noise well.As for "features", it is a little low on those, especially on first glance: there are only temperature, mode, and fan speed to alter, and the same offerings on the unremarkable remote. The trick is to find the menu button, which is hidden underneath the display INSIDE THE AIR INTAKE. Once you figure this out (the manual being no help), advanced options are available, including Fahrenheit/Celsius display, a timer, a complicated lockout function, and the all- modern connectivity option.So yes, this AC does connect to the internet via WiFi (2.4 GHz band only). You unfortunately have to make an account on Friedrich's site and give them your router SSID and password, but once you've done that, there is no other configuration necessary. You can then go to their site (or use the app) and control basics of your AC over the internet, which in itself is pretty cool.Going one further, registering your device is also the only way to activate the really fancy feature, which is to program an entire week's schedule. Using easy sliders, you just tell it weekday- by- weekday when you plan to wake up, leave the house, come back, and go to sleep. On the AC unit itself, you can only enable or disable the schedule you've entered online, but not alter it.There are some downsides, not gonna lie. The remote is ridiculously basic - no temperature sensing, no display. The color leans more towards grey than white. It sticks out a bit more than my old unit. I feel like the display should include a room temperature display (you can get this from the website though), and not turn off completely all the time. Oh, and could they have included two inches of vinyl tubing for the drainage so I didn't have to run and purchase 10' of it?But all in all, this is a surprisingly good machine considering that we Friedrich wall sleeve owners are a captive customer base.

Bought this July 2019. Used it a few times until summer ended. The control panel never worked, it turned on using the remote only. Its cool and fan only. Just tried to use it again July 20202. It doesn't work at all. Checked the interior of the unit (its brand new inside), and the parts look fake, like someone cloned a Friedrich and is passing them off as real. Avoid this seller, they are selling scam products.

My whole house has Friedrich A/C in every room (total of 7). I was never disappointed until this unit that i just purchased (WCT10A10A). It looks just like the rest of them. However, when i turn it on, it is just a basic A/C with COOL or Fan Only feature, and 3 level fan speed. THAT IS ALL. None of the features that is written on the description of this unit DO NOT EXIST. NO WiFi, NO Money Saver, NO timer, NO delay start. NOTHING. and yet the price is still on the high side. The only positive thing is that when it is on, it cools (until you freeze since it doesn't stop until you turn it off). You can decide on your own if you want this model for this price. I am personally disappointed especially Amazon and ABT misleads you with all the feature that this A/C would have.

Posting on multiple WCT units by this manufacturer:- If you are here after googling the unit number, save yourself 4 hours and buy a $23 smart plug and turn the unit on/off that way. Or just buy the dumb version and save yourself the extra $30.- Remote control does not work further than 6ft away from the unit.- "Menu" and "Return" buttons exists inside the air intake, under the control panel.- Manuals that are available online are written for newer, different A/C units and following them does not work.- Friedrich's only working app will not correctly connect to and setup WCT model A/C units. Don't try.- Wifi setup is not documented correctly and is impossible to complete- However, the unit does provide cooling if you set the temp to 78 and set it to "on."

I originally wanted to purs the WST model, but was told it was replaced by the WCT model, it is a downgrade from the WST model. I agree with the previous person who said, it is just a basic A/C with COOL or Fan Only feature, and 3 level fan speed. THAT IS ALL. They say you can connect to WiFi however that doesn't work. For it really to cool you have to leave it running, because the auto does not keep it cool. I did not purchase my unit from Amazon, bought it elsewhere.
