Excellent cable, works well.
Don't buy the CH340 chipset, get this cable or any other cable that has a FTDI chipset. This product has good build quality and works no problem, it uses the FTDi chipset.

Useful! ...
I bought this cable to connect an old handheld personal organiser to a laptop to see if I could retrieve the data from it and it worked (once I had figured how to find the organiser) which was not automatically recognised being so old.Useful! ...

Easy to use and supported on current operating systems
Worked out the box with Windows (10 and 11) picking up the drivers automatically. The DE9/RS232 plug (with USB chip) is compact enough (only marginally longer than a standard DE9 connector) to fit inside the enclosure I needed it to.Only niggle is that the listing image is a solid black cable (which matched the others in use here), but the product has a dark brown transparent sheath, showing the braided shielding inside.

SABRENT USB Serial Cable
I used this particular FTDI Sabrent cable to "flash/update" the firmware of a newish ROTEL TRIBUTE CD11 CD player via it's serial port. It worked well on Windows 10 x64 via USB side once it discovered the cable. I would recommend though to disable anti virus before doing any updates first. Now, why a simple red book CD player requires firmware updates in 2025 is another matter. Two stars off as it's too expensive!.
