I was a little apprehensive about storing my butter outside the fridge, but after a month or so of using it, I haven't had any problems. I was away from home for a few days, so I stuck the whole jar in the fridge since I wasn't going to be using it. The only minor problem I've had is the butter cup isn't an exact fit through the opening in the water jar and it would sometimes catch and need a little jiggling. I fixed this by finding the best alignment and putting little paint marks on lid and jar, when the dots line up no problem opening and closing.

I was skeptical when I ordered this but thought I would try it. I am very pleased with this butter dish and I love how well the butter stands up. I have filled it twice and my butter is lasting a week with no separation and it remains very fresh.During the first week we had an average temperature of 105 and I changed the water daily (placed ice cubes) In and it has worked very well. I may order another one soon so I will always have one available as I like it that well and do not want to be without it.

Love this butter dish! Made of porcelain. It came packaged well. Boxed nicely inside a larger box. Love the country feel of this beautiful piece. I’ve used it for a week now and not a drop of butter has fallen out. Butter stays soft and fresh. It fits in my farmhouse home beautifully. I’d definitely purchase more products from this company again.

A little larger than I thought but it's nice to have soft butter easily available. Put in cold butter into the container and it fell into the water.Be sure butter is soft and room temperature before putting it in the crock.

Doesn’t work how it says on the page. Or maybe it would have if I did it right but I guess we’ll never know because there’s no directions. My butter just plopped into the water as soon as I pulled it out. So if you just need a nicnack for your counter top or a gag gift or white elephant this is good for cow collectors.

I really like this butter keeper BUT I should have returned it. The two parts don’t fit together correctly. One piece is off round and you can’t fit it inside without turning until you find the right spot where it can fit in. A quality control problem.I like it enough that I gave some as gifts but I bought a different brand because of that problem.

I’ve been using a traditional butter dish but keep hearing about these butter keepers. I already like how the butter is more “sealed” this way versus the regular dish. The design is very cute too!

After my 1st order arrived damaged (Amazon gladly offered a replacement!!!), I was very happy with my purchase.Our family has been using various styles of these "butter keepers" for years. This one is probably one of the nicest (so far anyway) & at the price (10.99), a great value for the money.
