Great egg timer better than a wall clock because it measures the temperature of the water itself. Really simple for young kids, however they tend to lose interest very quickly.... Boiling water can make it difficult to read

This item works perfectly, all you do is put this in a pot of cold water, add the eggs and turn on the flame and just watch the top turn white. It has marks of how well done you want the egg and when the white hits that mark, you remove the egg and it will be either extra runny, soft boiled or hard boiled. Great item and easy to work with.

This is an updated review after I exchanged the egg for a different one. The first one I had did not accurately work but customer service was amazing and helped me exchange it for a different one- and it works perfectly. I had seen so many positive reviews on this egg and thought I had to have it. I have a gas stove and the cooking time on hard boiled eggs to be the way we all like to eat them seems to vary depending on the day, weather, whatever. It was a pain to do the guess and check method all the time, and a waste of some eggs (which the dogs loved, haha). Using the egg timer took a lot of the guess work out. We like our eggs very hard boiled so I just leave them in a couple minutes past the time the egg turns all the way colored and they are perfect every time. I also found that if I do them in smaller batches (6-8) the timer is much more accurate! I'm so happy I gave it a second try because it is super helpful, not to mention cute! I would recommend this timer to anyone who cooks hard boiled eggs, it takes the guess work out of cooking so you get perfect eggs every time no matter what style of hard boiled eggs you prefer. The customer service is wonderful, emails were always responded to within 12-24 hours and they are easy to understand. They truly want to make sure you have a positive experience.

The right egg every time. Replaced my 40 year old similar timer with this one. Cant be without it.

Great.. until it's not. Purchased 1 year ago, used about 10 times before it started cracking if half. You can see how it affects the functionality. Worked as intended previously. Would not repurchase as it is easier to time eggs manually.
