Great for puzzles or hidden locks
The product is exactly as advertised. You get an RFID reader attached to a very simple locking mechanism. The locking mechanism is spring loaded and will forcibly eject the latch, which can either be useful or inconvenient depending on the application. You can power the lock with either a (very short) USB cable or two AA batteries. The USB cable is standard USB 2.0 to a 2.5mm bipole, so you may need to hunt around if you're looking for a longer one. Programming the lock is extremely easy, and you can program other 125khz RFID items like stickers. Perfect for if you want your unlocking item to be inconspicuous (i.e. not a fob or a card). You can pick up a pack of 10 stickers for $10 elsewhere on amazon, just search for 125khz rfid sticker. The lock comes with two cards and two fobs, but no stickers. It is annoying that the program button is on the opposite side from the latching mechanism. That means that if you want to reprogram and you've lost your master card you'll need to drill a hole for the reset button or unmount the lock to get at the reset button. On the plus side, the device keeps RFID signatures even when the batteries are removed, although I have not yet tested to see how long it retains programming. The mounting hardware is sparse, but functional. The hatch is stamped metal inside rigid plastic, so it won't stand up to any type of realistic forced entry. But that's to be expected. This isn't for high-security applications, it's for hidden applications or keeping honest people honest. If you are looking to use this in a puzzle (e.g. escape room, puzzle box) then you'll probably want to open it up to disable the speaker so the solvers can't get extra information, and you'll probably want to buy a longer USB cord (or really hope the batteries don't fail). There's not much more that one can expect from this item at this price point. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to hide a locking mechanism, then this will do the job.

Fantastic RFID lock
We got this as a trial wanting to lock an antique cabinet. Installation was a wee bit of a challenge, not because of the lock, but because of the cabinet. We did not want to change the appearance, or basic function of the cabinet. After a bit and a few choice words not fit for reviews, I had it installed. Man am I impressed!! Not expecting much at this price point, it is doing the job fantastically. The cabinet has not changed, but is locked and with a swipe of a card POP! it's opened! The only issue I have, and this was addressed in the documentation, is the cards work, but the fobs do not. This is very dense wood. So I will be ordering 2 or 3 additional access cards. Now I'm looking around the house to see where I can add more of these!!....Thank You!!

For the price you literally can not do better
Not usually one to write reviews but figured Iโd write one for this if youโre in a position I was looking for a solution. I ordered these to attached to an ikea cabinet which I would be using to store items I did not want guests or maintenance entering my apartment to accidentally come across. Ease of Installation: Installation is really straight forward, like really straight forward. If you have any semblance of common sense you will have zero issues installing it to a cabinet, drawer etc. Ease of programming: Again, ridiculously straight forward, programming a master key for the two locks I purchased, then individual keys for each lock took me less than 10 minutes. All it takes is following simple 1,2,3 instructions. Programming is a little more involved if you want to use the advanced features (dual key access) but still easy enough. Durability and functionality: Had mine for roughly 2 weeks now, opening and closing each cabinet door several times a day with both the master key and the individual keys, not one issue has appeared. Locks do not shift nor do they need to be adjusted as long as you use the included hardware. And this is with my both slamming the cabinet door shut on my way past it and gently closing it. Its been handled gently and abusively and has stood up to the test with zero issues. Battery Life: Canโt speak to that but like I said have had one of the locks for two weeks opening several times a day and not a problem yet. The instructions mention that once battery is low you will hear an audible long beep after opening it at which point you should soon after replace the battery. Then it will pop open on its own to avoid locking itself with dead batteries. Overall its a great little security feature for 12-15 bucks.

Don't have batteries in it if plugging into USB, will blow up. They forgot to mention that.
I bought and installed this lock into a commissioned custom gun cabinet. Installed and all good, was initially impressed. Then the battery blew up sending acid all over a $8000 birch/epoxy custom piece. Looked at instructions carefully before installing, had a friend also read them as they are fairly poorly written, no mention of potential fire or injury from having batteries in while the USB is connected. In fact the manual says batteries must be in more than once in, unfortunately at this point, the cabinet is built around this lock, so I had to order another regretfully. upon contacting manufacturer, their response was less than acceptable. "it says don't do that on Amazon" I don't know about you, but I think that it would be prudent to put it into the manual that comes with the lock, unless it is common for folks to go back to the Amazon page from your purchase to sift through for warnings about potential hazards. Unfortunately I cannot recommend, lock works, company is incompetent, do not put this lock on anything of value that it can damage, the few bucks I saved is long lost in the damage done.

incredibly tight tolerances - maybe not meant for swinging doors
This thing works amazingly when you open the box and it is sitting on your counter, but the tolerances to mount it are just too tight. Using professional plastic shims that come in specific increments I shim the latch up 1mm and it's still too low, I shim it up 3mm and it's too high, I stack two 1mm shims to shim it 2mm and it's almost perfect but the latch won't swing in. I get the latch to catch and the door is either too loose (obvious movement when you touch it) or it's snug and the lock won't release. You finally get that all worked out and snap the door shut and because you used spring loaded hinges and the batteries come flying out the back of the unit and it is now locked with no batteries in it. I've spent two days trying to make this work.

Using to secure a cabinet door from the grandkids
I purchased 2 of these to secure a couple of cabinet doors from the grand kids. I have some upper cabinets where I store ammunition and other gun related stuff (cleaning supplies, ammunition, holsters, cases, extra magazines, etc.) that I don't want the kids getting into. These have worked out well. They of course are not security locks. They would be very easy to defeat for anyone intent on breaking into a cabinet, but to keep casual nosy kids out, they work well. They were very easy to set up. They come with 2 programable key cards and 2 programable key fobs. They operate on 2 AA batteries (not included). In the event of low batteries, the lock will automatically unlock. There is also a USB cable that will allow you to connect to a power source should the batteries go dead and the door is locked for some reason. Installation took some figuring. Trying to figure out the placement of the lock and latch inside a closed cabinet took some doing, but if this old retired prison guard can figure it out, most people should be able to make it work. This turned out to be a very inexpensive way to easily secure stuff I don't want the kids getting into while still allowing me ready access to it as I need.

Never forget where you hid your keys to open these locks.
These works great. Once installed it is hard to open when locked without a key. I like the fact that it has a setting where you have to have two types of different keys to open. The only problem I have with it is that I keep losing my keys resulting in my cabinets being locked all the time. LOL but that's my fault for forgetting where I hid them. Definitely worth your time and money. Read all the instructions when going to install it and make sure everything lines up.

Makes loud noise when unlocking
Works well but makes loud noise when unlocking plus they only give you an adhesive for one of the sides.

No support from seller.
I initially had a question about the product and the seller responded in a few days with a solution to my query. I followed their instructions and now my cabinet is locked and none of the cards or fobs will unlock it. It has been over a week and they have not answered my questions.

Many parts missing from order but refund was instantaneous
The order arrived very quickly but the latch , battery cover, usb cable and sticker was missing, no instructions whatsoever in box. Contacted seller and a refund was processed immediately, props for this only. Seller did not claim the original package, I nevertherless installed batteries to see if the unit works, but it seems defective, only beeps and does not unlock, reset button also defective. So buyer beware.
