Seems to work very well
I am just getting back into flying, and haven't even had a chance to take it out to try it. I have hooked up my trainer to it, and the controls work fine. It was a bit tricky to get programmed, but I am sure it's because of my own lack of experience. I am lucky, I will be trained again by a competent instructor, who also knows my transmitter. I say it's not for beginners, since it's an 8 channel, but if you have a good instructor, it should work fine!Otherwise, pleased with the device.

8 CHANNELS
Very excited to have this transmitter, with all the bin n fly planes you only need one radio also has enough channels for flaps and retracts, etc, ,so, you can buy a plane that has them installed or add it to yours can't go wrong with this radio and the price.

Airware Update
Great product, but updating it is a real task. I wonder why they overcomplicated updating the radio. I have literally bought 6 SD cards (Class 4) and none of them will work. Now the transmitter does nothing but blink. I have spent days trying to get this thing to boot and nothing. Updating should not be this difficult. They should adopt the same method of updating as they do the receivers.... simply plug into the PC using the cord. And..forward programming should come already enabled...and..the latest software should come already installed. Just a thought.

All DX models have issues with the screens
I have been using Spektrum for about 15 years with no real problems. I ordered a NX8 a few months ago and it works great, I recently got involved with youth outreach and ordered a DX6 to use as a trainer box but the screen fades out and the menus fade slowly from one to the other, which is not acceptable. Was contacted by Horizon/Spektrum indicating that they have a problem with the screens in cold weather. I since did some tests and found that at around 50 degrees and under the screens fade out. I live in the high desert, and it gets cold here and I fly in the cold, so the transmitters are not acceptable for my location. It seems that Spektrum cheaped out on the DX model transmitters to save cost and increase profits.
