We watched it for family movie night, and although there were a couple scenes that were inappropriate, nothing too bad and the kids thought it was funny

"nagiry-jp"さんで購入し、U.K.(イギリス)のDVDが送られてきました。パソコン（私が確認したのはMac）では見れましたが、一般的なDVD/Blu-rayプレイヤー（私が確認したのはPanasonic製のBlu-rayレコーダー）では見れないようです。外国のDVDであることは事前に知っていましたし、リージョンの他に、詳しくはなかったですがPALなど複数の形式があることは知っていたので、注文前にこの商品のページや購入先のページを注意して見ましたが、「日本のDVDで見れない」との記載が見つけられなかったので見れるのかと思い注文しました。（再度見てみると＞　リージョンコード: リージョン2 (このDVDは、他の国では再生できない可能性があります。詳細についてはこちらをご覧ください DVDの仕様。)と書いてあり、日本が「リージョン２」であることは知っていて、また「他の国」というのが「日本以外の国」という意味とも思ったので、リンク先のページは見なかったかと思いますが、そのページに書いてありました。　なので記載してない訳ではありませんでした。）詳しい方には常識かも知れませんが、日本以外ではヨーロッパがリージョン２で、ただしヨーロッパの多くの国はPAL方式で、日本の一般的なDVD/Blu-rayプレイヤーでは視聴できないようです。それが分かりやすく書いてありませんでしたので、星２つにしました。なお、パソコンは Mac ですが、Mac では視聴できるようです。（私はできればテレビで視聴したかったので、日本の一般的なプレイヤーで見れると良かったです。）なお、事前に「日本の一般的なDVDプレイヤーでは再生できない。多くのパソコンでは再生できる。」と分かりやすく書いてあったとしても、購入したと思います。なので、そういう意味では満足しています。内容については、以前にアメリカで見たことがあり、気に入ってビデオテープも購入して日本でも見ました。細かな内容は覚えていませんが、非常に面白かった記憶があります。（なので購入しました。）購入したDVDは、視聴できるか確認しただけでまだ見てませんが、内容的には星５つです。（また、事前に「一般的なDVDプレイヤーでは再生できない」と知って購入していれば、星５つにしたと思います。）非常にバカらしい内容なので、好みはあると思いますが、良い映画だと思います。商品の国によって変わるとは思いますが、Amazonの商品ページでも、また購入先のショップのページでも、「○○○○の国向けのDVDが送られます。○○○○の国のDVDは、日本の一般的なDVDプレイヤーでは再生できません。多くのパソコンでは再生できます。」のように分かりやすく分かりやすい場所に書いてあれば良かったです。（NTSC/PALはテレビなども関係するので仕方ないにしても、TPPなど貿易自由化と言うなら、いっそリージョンコードも廃止してくれると良いのですが。）

Joe Dirt [DVD] [2001] NO SPOILERSI loved it - I don't what all the negativity is about. I don't quite understand which critic goes first and why all the others are too afraid to say anything contrary to the first.As far as the technical aspects go it was perfectly alright. definitely up to modern day standards.As for the actual script/dialogue I found it really quite ok - nothing jarred for me. I wasn't expecting any grownup tirades etc - look at the rating - and there weren't any. As far as i'm concerned this was great fun and a really easy piece of viewing.Was it as 'clever' as the usual suspects or something that is going to blow your mind - NO its just a fun bit of escapism with some nice humorous moments - actually one or two made me laugh hard. I had fun spotting actors I'd seen other things.The story hung together quite well. I will watch again Quite honestly I don't know what critics want from a film. If people can suspend disbelief for sci fi like star wars etc is it so hard to believe Spade could be attractive to generally agreed hotter women? and besides the there is more to it than this - its story of life and morals and average people living an average lives.ACID TEST: would I watch/buy again/recommend? YES
