Even better than it appears
We needed a narrow-yet-deep computer desk and this had just the right dimensions for our intended location. Upon arrival and after assembling and living with it for several weeks I have only good things to say about it. Firstly it was very well-packaged with no damage to any panels despite the usual "let's drop this on its corner just for fun" that I'm certain all delivery people do with these heavy packages--it had a wrinkled corner I'd been worried about needlessly. Next the instructions and assembly were a model for modern "assemble it yourself" furniture items like this. No problems at all with that unless you count the black cardboard that is tacked-onto the back at the end: I had been really careful about keeping that flat and tacking-around in such a manner as to keep it flat, but despite my best efforts this "bubbled" at the top-back such that I pulled the top-edge nails out and re-did it so it'd lay flat. Must have been a large difference in humidity here and maybe had I let it sit for a few days before assembly this might not have occurred.Once built the setup was a breeze insofar as the shelves & whatnot. I especially like the keyboard tray hardware/slideout; works very well. NOTE when I first looked at this shelve's steel brackets, I'd thought they were maybe defective i.e. both had a slight bend to them that was very noticeable. Turns-out this is a design feature I believe, meant to have the KB shelf "sit down" when shoved-back into the unit.We do BTW use this with a laptop and docking station, and there's plenty of room for that. I do have my doubts as to whether a full-size tower would fit into the lower area meant for such a thing--I suspect it may be too shallow for some though of course you can easily cut the back out of the cardboard backing if you need to. As someone else here mentioned, it's very (very) dark inside and unless the space you're in is super-well-lit you may want to do as I did and put a cheap LED undercabinet light inside the top edge (behind the magnets) so you won't go blind. In summary virtually everything about this Sauder unit has exceeded my expectations: it's substantial (and heavy!), has quality hardware, and the finish is nice such that although it's not fine furniture it'll fool a lot of people, and was almost ridiculously low-priced. Good stuff Sauder!

It all fits together... I promise!
I read the reviews before purchasing and was scared. I got it anyway bc it was exactly what I wanted for a decent price. I was determined to make it work! It took a lonnnnng time to put together. Mostly bc I couldn't do certain parts of it alone. I went into the build with a preconceived notion, bc of the negative reviews, that the pieces weren't going to fit. So, when it seemed like they didn't I was mad but, like I said before, determined to make it work for my family and I. Turns out it does fit. Very well. Very tightly and quite sturdy. You just have to trust that its not going to break if you push it hard enough to put it in connecting holes and what not. Easy instructions. Looks great! Difficult for one person to assemble. Is shorter than most people would desire but functional enough. Perfect for an apartment. It was damaged in a few spots which was upsetting but by the time i realized it i was already building... so... oh well... I also got the file cabinet and had the bookshelf. The colors matches exactly. :) the photos are of the finished product, the finished product next to a 6 foot tall man and some of the damages.

EXCELLENT purchase
Great item. Sauder furniture is sturdy once put together--not flimsy. Don't have to worry about securing this item to the wall for safety either. It did take a while to put together and there was minor damage in shipping (fixed by a black marker and not noticeable). Nothing required for assembly was missing. I'm not going to mark a particle board piece of furniture down for being what it is, nor for the assembly required. I didn't want to spend $700 or more for a computer armoire and after much searching at multiple companies selected this item. It looks amazing. Neatly stores away all computer components which is great for those of us who have to have offices in our living rooms. Keeps everything clean and dust free. Stores a lot of extra items (CDs/DVDs) as well and all tucked away into a small space. It can be dark inside so we did add closet LED touch lights to the top which was a great addition. I highly recommend this item to those willing to assemble furniture and accept particle board!

Easy to assemble and seems to be pretty sturdy, looks nice too
This is a short computer cabinet (about 4' tall) which is what I wanted. It works great for the small space that I have. It was easy to assemble with only a screwdriver and hammer required. I assembled it on the box which made it easy to move when it was complete. It has a nice looking cherry finish and closely matches 2 expensive bookcases in the room. I am pleased that it is not cheap looking like many I have seen before. It's the perfect size for my HP All-in-one computer leaving me lots of room on the bottom for my printer and files. The doors are on heavy duty hinges so should hold up for a long time. They also swing all the way back against the sides out of the way if needed. For the price this was a nice purchase and I am very pleased with it. Thank you.

You don't always get what you pay for...
It's nice and serves the purpose it was intended for. However, it is not very sturdy and with one extra turn, I had a screw go in too far into the thin plastic that holds the magnet (to keep the door shut) and now I will have to glue it down to stay in it's place. The one issue I had was that whoever shipped it, broke one of the shelves. There are also small dents where they dropped it. FYI to the company, you may want to use someone else to ensure proper delivery. I did NOT return it as I did not see the dents and dings until I had 3/4 of it already put together. As for the shelf, well, my monitor is too big so I can't really use it. It worked out... I guess.Overall, it is a nice piece of furniture. I just wanted something more sturdy.
