A Classroom Favorite That Became a Home Must-Have
No, David! has been a hit in our house two years running. Last year, my kindergartner came home raving about it after reading it at school. This year, my now-first grader proudly told her new teacher it was her favorite book and immediately decided she needed her own copy. A must-have for any classroom or home library with young kids.

Fun Stories That Teach The Importance Of Polite Behavior & Adult Patience/Love
Some may think David books glorify bad behavior—I think just the opposite. As a child growing up, I adored the book series written about the Goops—children who imbibed in naughty behavior and childish pranks. I learned the importance of manners and polite behavior through their silly antics. David is a modernized version of those books, and our grandchildren love the drawings and story lines to each and every David book. Our three year can’t read, yet she can recite (with excellent animation) these books word for word. She recognizes the difference between right and wrong through David’s actions. These are good learning tools, as well as hilarious reads.

"Very Realistic"
This is an excellent book for a child who is still learning what is proper manners in a variety of situations. The book presents all kinds of situations kids encounter; eating dinner, taking a bath, obeying instructions, playing in the house etc The author writes about these situations in a very humorous manner and the pictures are hilarious. Because many of the words are repeated it is also an encouraging book for a child who is learning to read My 3 year old niece learned the title of the book easily and was able to pronounce the words after just a couple of readings. She very much identified with the character and the mistakes he was making in his behavior choices and laughed a lot. The ending is lovely and would make anyone say aww.... I know I did :-) and of course she did too :-). In fact it's really fun to act out the last page with your child

My grandson loves it!
Love this book! My 3-year-old grandson chooses this book for afternoon rest time. We talk about what David is doing & why he shouldn't do these things, and what would the better choices be. We also read other books showing correct behavior. The simplicity allows children to use their minds to describe what's happening. Recommended by a behavioral therapist for that very same reason.

My Boys Love this Book - BUT....
This is one of the favorites for both of my boys. It's the story of a typical boy being a boy, and a Mom being a Mom. I don't quite understand the negative reviews it receives for showing David being mischievous and being disciplined for it. As if the reviewers didn't expect to have to encounter topics such as disobedience and parental correction (yelling) that could somehow be traumatizing to their children. The title of the book should be a dead giveaway as to its content. However, it should be pointed out that there are, at least for me, two items of questionable content to be aware of. (spoiler alert) 1. After taking a bath, David runs down the street as naked as he was born (shown from the backside). 2. While picking his nose, there is a hidden 4-letter-word displayed diagonally in the text of the page: STOP THAT THIS INSTANT The font of the page makes it practically jump out. Whether this was intentional or not, I can't believe it wasn't caught. Regardless of the above content, its a funny book with a good ending. My boys love it and I will continue to read it to them.

No, David! is one that struck a chord with both my 5 and 3 year old. The final page is so touching, and hit home for both my kids. They asked questions, talked about the book, and asked to be read again. It's a good book for parents too. Reminds you of a valuable lesson all parents need to remember.

My son found this series of books on YouTube and loved it so I brought this for him. He loves the character and the board book is very well made. It's a decent length at 32 pages and holds a child interest.

My son identifies a lot with protagonist david. Asks me to read the book every night. The book has very good pictures and just a dialogue from davids mum to go with the image. So now my son knows what behaviour is not good. This book is for kids not for adults to find solutions. But it helps as it makes the child understand what bad behaviour looks like. My son knows that whatever david does in the book will not make him a good boy. Its a great buy.
