I like the looks of the unit, the mold quality is just OK, not rock solid. My real beef against the purchase is that I DIDN'T GET the round PEGS for attaching the units SIDEWAYS. I got the top attachment set, but the round pegs for snapping together the units sideways that are described in the instructions were in NONE of the unit boxes, nowhere to be found, and I wanted to use them. Is it just the ones sent to me or has anyone else gotten shorted? Anyway, the outside frames are fairly solid but the drawer units could be made of a stiffer plastic. Mine are on a metal latticed-shelfed rack so I used bungie cords to hold the backs down when I open them. Better than cardboard but I think $37 each is too high, maybe $20 each would be their real value considering they are just cheap molded pieces not requiring much after tooling. For common files they are OK tough. But come on Quality Control, include all the pieces when you box them up!

Best to think of these as storage bins that you can access when stacked. If you have use for stacking storage bins, consider using these. You can stack you bins and still access everything.As a file cabinet, they are not so great, especially with how they slide (compared to a file cabinet) and the drawers can fall out if you are not careful (The flip side is that you can pull the tubs completely out for access). In my opinion, the ONLY reason you should use these as a file cabinet, is if you needed them to be modular. Also, when they hold a lot of weight, they get hard to pull out and in cause they are practically just a tub in a housing.Since they are modular, you can do things like stack 3 high, 5 wide, put a board on top and you have nice work surface with tons of storage.Tip: When your bins are heavy, lift the front a little when you pull and insert the bins. The little wheels on back and top of the bins will help more if the pressure is not so great.

We have five of these stacked in our closet. Each one is full of files and folders and have held up nicely to our once or twice a week filing. No cracks, no wear and tear. We have a shallow closet in our home office so we couldn't fit a traditional filing cabinet inside. This provided the perfect alternative after a lot of research. They're made for stacking with each other. The portability is great and will be very convenient for when we move. We bought them in April 2010 and they've been great ever since.

more than two years after buying this thing I just stopped by to give it a 2-star rating. I routinely have to 'slam' the drawer for it to close entirely - something in the back of the drawer - with not a lot of weight in the hanging files - stops the drawer from closing. It's an OK piece of plastic but not very functional.

5 stars for the concept. I'm all about modularity and compactness.However, as is usually the case with plastic drawers, the drawer itself will often snag on the outer casing and rub against its insides as you pull the drawer in or out. They design these types of drawers to be way too tightly fitted, so that if things are off by even a millimeter, the drawer catches, rubs, or even halts completely.Luckily, I was able to take a box cutter knife to one of them and cut away the plastic lips that were catching. There is still some overall friction when I pull the drawer in or out, but at least it can open without slamming to a halt, as the bottom lip of the drawer catches on the frame.I really wanted to like these drawers. If they were designed with just a little larger frame, giving more room to the drawer inside, it would probably be perfect, and I would have bought a dozen more of these.

The file drawer to my desk broke and I had to remove it, but was able to keep the desk. I ordered this for my files and it works well for that use. I keep it in the closest which is next to my desk and it isn't taking up any needed space and I even gained some with the drawer now removed from the desk

I never buy anything without reading reviews, but I usually don't write them. I felt compelled to write one about this product. Wow, you really get what you pay for with this storage box. And I didn't pay much. I was excited to get these storage boxes, as I'm in the final stages of refinishing my office and I'm eager to get everything organized. I bought two, and when I opened up the first, I couldn't even get the drawer open. My husband took a look and immediately realized that there were several ragged edges left from the compression molding of these boxes that weren't removed. Same deal with the second box. They're packed up and ready to take a trip to the UPS store tomorrow. I really did want these boxes to work -- great price, but terrible construction. I think it'll be worth the extra money to get a cabinet that will last and hold up for a long time.

Large capacity for small price👍 Very solid and durable

It’s a very heavy duty file solution however you can’t put it on a shelf because when you open it you must support the front of the drawer or it tips. So it needs support when you open it. Not what I really was looking for.

Would give it more stars if I could order more than one. Stacking boxes that are perfect for storing documents however since the order is limited to one per customer then it is pointless that they are stackable.
