I love my Sunflair solar oven. I asked for it for Christmas and since then have experimented with cooking lots of meals. I have a ranch and don't have much time to fuss over cooking, so I challenged it to see what it would do with little effort. I put giant frozen roasts in it, covered them with whole potatoes and carrots and put it outdoors for approximately six hours in CA winter temps of 60-70 degrees. Wow! Without even cutting up the meat everything came out tender and well cooked. Im in love. I never defrost the meat first. Its so easy! I love that the dinnerware isn't from China, good ole' USA quality. It's amazing to me how such cool temps cook so well. I can't wait to see what it will do in the summer temps of 100-115. It will be smokin'! This is when I want to try two different pans at the same time to see the results. This is a low-maintenance, well performing product. You will enjoy experimenting with it.

The Sunflair is very easy to set up and use, and we have used it almost daily since purchasing it. Its portability is definitely a major feature. We have highly recommended this product to friends and family and recommend it to anyone interested in solar cooking as an additional method to cook using sun power. I've now had this solar oven for 2 years and I am fairly satisfied with it. Here's the drawbacks. I have seldom got this oven to heat consistently above 200 degrees even on a hot July day. This oven will eventually cook a whole chicken, but you will need the correct size black metal pot for cooking and 4 to 5 hours of bright sun in order to fully cook the chicken. You'll also need to rotate the oven toward the sun at least 3 or 4 times throughout the day as it cooks. The only other complaint I have is that the clear plastic front door eventually expands from the heat and ends up sagging. Mine has reached the point where I have to wedge a stick inside the oven to keep the front window from sagging down over my baking pot. Baking bread will only work for small (2 cup flour) loafs, and again you'll need at least 200 degrees for about 2 hours cook time. This oven trumps all the others for light weight and portability. Cleans up easily, folds and fits back in the case nice, too. I'd give it 5 stars if it could only reach a higher temp.

This was the first Sunflair Solar Oven I bought, and I love it. I've since bought another one for someone else, so I guess that shows how much I think of this product. Very easy to use, and provides protection from winds and critters. Love the double-stacking racks and all the pots. I'm sold on Sunflair based on how easy this is to use, Includes a nice little cookbook with some hints and tasty recipes. Very compact to carry or store.
