Amazon: Please bring back the larger count bottle?

Just to answer everyone's question, loperamide is no longer available in anything higher than 24count due to the FDA passing new limitations on OTC loperamide medication. Per the new guidelines, effective October 2019, loperamide can not be sold in anything higher than 24 count and the limitations extend to the packaging of OTC loperamide as well, as it is a new rule that they can't be sold loose in a bottle and can only be sold in blister packs. The FDA took these measures because ever since 2010, they've been increasingly getting reports that opioid junkies looking to stave off withdrawal, have been abusing loperamide in high doses of 50-100pills or more at a time on the daily, which can lead to significant heart damage. Loperamide is an opioid - though, with no significant absorption from the gut and does not cross the blood–brain barrier unless used in very high doses. This folks is why loperamide is no longer available in 48 count/96 count packs or higher, or in bottles of any count. Some places like CVS won't let you even purchase more than 1 or 2 24count packages at a time.

Are these difficult to open?

Shows ya exactly what happens to normal people when the government lawyers get their hands on something! Diarrhea meds in those #@$#&¥ blister packs! You’re in a hurry and you have to wrestle with getting them open, they fly all over the place, and that hard plastic cuts your finger while doing it. Hopefully that’s all that happens! Thanks for nothing, government! I spend an hour cutting open them all and guess what...I dump them into a bottle!

Why isn't there a notice on the package that warns "Requires scissors to open" ?

Would have been nice to have that on package. Just got them and put a couple in my purse as going out for lunch with family and to make sure nothing happened I was going to take one before eating. Couldn’t get the dang thing open and handed it to my daughter who practically had to demolish the whole pill to get it out. I don’t carry scissors in my purse. Probably could have given it to some kid as they will find a way no matter what!
