A nice little 16GB memory card for the price

I bought three of these - at the attractive price of £3.10 each - and am very pleased with them. I was after 4GB microSD cards, but I found these were around £4 each on Amazon, so these cards at this nice price and with four times the space - well, what's not to like?As you can see from the H2testw results, they all write at about 14.2-14.3MB/sec, and read from around 86.5-86.8MB/sec. Windows 10 reports the cards as having 15,544,090,624 bytes (14.4GB to you and me) which is fine - you expect some of the 16GB space to be taken up with hosekeeping, conversion from binary to decimal storage, which I don't fully understand, but a 14.4GB microSD card for £3.10 suits me just fine. There may be a problem with the supplied microSD to SD card adaptor, in that the cards don't go all the way in - and I've tried this with other microSD cards with the same result - but as I have a few of these adaptors anyway it isn't (for me) a problem and not worth deducting a star. I didn't register that the cards would come with adaptors anyway, so was slightly surprised when they did - even if the adaptors are useless - yes, I know I should look at the photo at the top of this page more fully... The microSD card doesn't seem to make contact internally with the adaptor, and as such the card slot on the front of my computer doesn't recognise it (the photo shows the Polaroid adaptor with a microSD card fully inserted, while the Kioxia adaptor only lets the microSD card in so far - no, I'm not going to force it, I may damage the card). So, to sum up, I'm happy with my microSD cards. They're fast at being read, OK at writing, and are nice and cheap.

Does the job.

I had never heard of the KIOXIA brand. Apparently they were spun off from Toshiba. This microSD card seems reliable so far, even though it was the cheapest of its size and class.

Okay card for backups, not great for single-board computers (SBCs)

Speed seem to be inconsistent and random read/write is an issue.Causes freezes on Raspberry PI 4 when writing text data every 2-3 minutes as well as using the system. From personal experience - this card offers an amazing value for money, but it is only good to be a start-up card with a hand-over to USB SSD device on raspberry PI 4.Kioxia USB 3.1 flash drive offered similar inconsistent with very slow boot speed (but this could be at least partially down to raspberry pi itself, as the performance on Windows seem to be better (perhaps more power is allocated). Can't get direct comparison as Windows system has usb 2.0 only, whilst boot on linux was used on USB 3 port.Really good card for a backup of another 'startup card' or basic 'starter card' with a view to transfer the boot-up/data on higher speed drive.Speed degraded quickly within 8 months (with a lot of writes of at least 30% of the drive). Now will remain as a backup of a main 'card'.

Does exactly what it says on the box!

The media could not be loaded. Works perfectly, and was in easy to open packaging - can't speak for the longevity yet, but Kioxia are a solid brand when it comes to SSD's, so hopefully the SD card will live up to the same standard!

Kioxia - a little smaller than other 64GB drives

I bought 3x 64GB SD cards, one each from Sandisk (B0B7NXBM6P), Lexar (B0BX9BH17W), and Kioxia (B088X252DK). They were to potentially be used as backups for a handheld game console (the R36S, a clone of a clone of a clone). I successfully flashed images to the Sandisk and Lexar cards, but Win32 Disk Imager complained that the Kioxia card was too small, and Balena Etcher wouldn't even accept the Kioxia card (greyed out as a choice) for the size of the image was too large for it.Here are the sizes of each SD card. You'll see that there's a full 1.5GB difference betweeen the Sandisk and the Kioxia.Sandisk 59.4 GB63,859,326,976 BytesLexar 58.2GB62,594,744,320 BytesDifference between Sandisk and Lexar 1.2 GB1,264,582,656 BytesKioxia 57.9 GB62,195,285,440 BytesDifference between Sandisk and Kioxia 1.5 GB1,663,951,536 BytesI've still given this card 5 stars as it performs as I'd expect and I imagine that in all other use cases it's fine, except for my use case where the stock image from the handheld was just a little too large for it.So be warned. Not all SD cards are the same. :-)

Not the fastest

Can't complain given the price, but this card is only really fast enough for MP3 players. Tried to use it to run a Linux distro on my Raspberry Pi, but it was so slow and laggy I gave in. I had to use a spare 128gb SanDisk Ultra for that. Instead I've loaded some music files on it for my MP3 player. It works OK, but it's slowed the operation of the player down considerably. This is a cheap card, so I guess you get what you pay for, but I wish now I'd bought a more expensive card.
