I have had multiple thermometers in my 60 years of cooking. I have tried the wireless, app driven ones. I find the apps attached to them a primary detriment (notably staying connected). The one thing I do like is that many of the apps predict the time to the set temperature. I had a wired version that provided this particular predictive timing function. It died after a couple of years of service. I wanted another, but they are hard to find, even on Amazon. My second one died. Now I cannot find this type of predictive wired probe thermometer. Back to a wireless probe with an app? Oh well. And “no”.I ended up getting this ThermoPro wired version. It is simple. No predictive function. Still, I like it. It does exactly what it is supposed to, provide an accurate temperature inside an item while it cooks. I used it on New Years Eve with a roast. The roast came out exactly as I wanted it – medium rare. The price is great. The durability seems standard. The display is easy to read. Operation is easy to understand. (Be sure to unwrap the battery!). The probe wire is long enough so the main display can sit on the counter next to the oven (or grill). Recommended!

I had this same thermometer before, but dropped it in the water and it stopped working. I wanted the exact item that I broke and that is what I ordered. It is very easy to use. I love being see the temp of the meat I'm fixing without having to open the oven door. The alarm is loud enough that I can hear it from another room. This is a great product.

Great product that every household should have that does any type of cooking. Just keep in mind that food keeps cooking, even after oven removal, and your consistency with serving great meals will go up tenfold. The build quality is good and the magnet makes it easy to attach it to the oven door handle. Having the safe temps incorporated into the program should be standard for cooking thermometers at this point and is really nice to have. Just make sure to not submerge the base in water and to clean the detachable thermometer separately to keep it lasting a long time.

I have been looking for a durable thermometer for years, and am quite happy with this one. I find it to be convenient, accurate, easy to read, and easy to clean. The different settings are easy to access and can be super helpful for someone learning different safety temperatures! Would buy again (but I haven’t had to!)

This gadget is pretty neat. The probe goes into the meat which is cooking inside the oven. The electronics stays outside the oven and is connected through heat-tolerant cable that is so thin that the oven door closes effortlessly. You pick the type of meat (beef, pork, fish, etc.) and the unit will alarm when the meat reaches the correct temperature for safety. Of course it works on the grill too. Really simple to use.

Love it! This thing is great! We'll made, easy to use, does what it's supposed to do! The magnet is strong enough to hold it in place securely, and the cable is durable, so this thing should last a long time.

I initially bought 2 of these -- one for work, one for home.At work I use it almost daily to keep temps of various cuts of beef such as brisket or tri tip to get it to the doneness I desire. It's quite literally a "Set it and forget it!" thermometer that I can leave. The alarm goes off without a hitch when it reaches set temp. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. With this thermometer everything comes out perfectly the way I want it to!At home, I opened up the second one to use this Thanksgiving. I had the 2 thermometers set for different temps and they worked wonderfully! However, through no fault of the product, I melted the body unit of one of the thermometers. I used the magnet to attach it to the side of a grill -- my mistake -- and the body almost completely melted. BUT! IT STILL WORKED! And it STILL WORKS! the battery compartment is melted shut and some of the wires are exposed, but it still reads and works like a champ (this one is going to have to be replaced once the battery dies)!Definitely a great investment at a great price!

As long as you place probe properly in meat, these work great. Our first thermometer lasted about 5 years. We had to replace it after we dropped it or it would have kept going. New design added a spring strain relief to probes so should be even better. The preset temps work pretty well. Use them almost all the time. Wish it had a few more temps for beef though. For the price, can't be beat though. Simple to use and durable.
