Frustrating for old farts! Not for amateurs!
I bought this for a grandchild for Christmas. She loves this kind of thing and I thought she would enjoy it. They are a little steep in price and I must say, I was a bit surprised when it arrived in a tiny little 2.5 x 2.5 inch box, (From the pics, I was expecting something about double that size). I wanted to be certain I was getting a decent quality item, so I removed it from the box and started messing around with it to check quality and entertainment value. Well, we are now 3 days closer to Christmas since it arrived and I am no closer to getting back into that 2.5 x 2.5 box it came in. It is ridiculous how many times I have tried to fold it back into a tiny little square! To be honest, I simply feel frustrated with the whole damn thing. I even had ideations of tearing it apart and gluing it back together. (Then I remembered what I paid and I thought better of it.) The quality certainly seems decent. I am basing that on the fact that it didn't come apart yet and I think I have folded it every which way to Sunday. On the upside, my granddaughter is probably going to love it! She is just 9 yrs old, but will probably get it back in the box in 5 minutes!! So, I guess what I am reluctantly saying, is that I think the entertainment value is there. I still have 20 days to get some help (probably from a kid!) with getting this back in the box it came in. Otherwise, I will find a new box to wrap it in and keep the old box - so I can show the granddaughter how it looked when I got it. It is a little embarrassing that I have found this to be so difficult. But, I am trying to be transparent here and forewarn you that UNLESS you have some help from a genius (ok maybe exaggerating there), DO NOT take it out of the box to try it out if it is a gift for someone else! If they weren't so darn expensive, I would have simply just ordered another one and kept this one for my dumb self. 😜EDIT: 01/24/23 - I did order a second one for myself (and company) Mind you, I did not even get it out until several days after Christmas. Today is the 24th of January and so we maybe had it opened 3 weeks. It has been played with quite a bit by kids and adults alike, however it is tearing apart at one of the seams. So, frankly we are a bit disappointed for spending $20 on something we thought we would enjoy a bit longer. After only 3 weeks, it is clear this one is not going to last much longer. I guess on the upside, $20 is really pretty cheap entertainment these days, when you consider the cost of going to a movie or bowling, eating out or any other activity. We probably did get at least $20 worth of entertainment, but still. 😢

Warning: ADDICTIVE!!!
Trust me, one will NOT be enough. Ive got 10, at 25 a pop, they're like crack. I recommend picking a design and sticking with it, it's fun to make all kinds of neat shapes and designs, it's like art therapy in it's own right. They're sturdy, and the design on the creases never degreades from use, it's impressive. I e had my first for over a year, and it hasn't broken yet. 15/10, will be buying again.

A must have for all ages!
This toy (?) is the best thing I've purchased in a very long time. I've been having so much fun with it and have a hard time putting it down. I've shown it to a few people and they will definitely be buying them as well.I love the art work on the boxes and the fact that it comes in sets is really cool. I'm waiting patiently for a Rolling Stones one to come out. These would make perfect gifts for just about anyone. It's also a great learning tool for children.I am 70 years old and have really bad arthritis and this actually helps. The price is almost unbelievable at under $20.00. Where could you get this much enjoyment for that price?I did have one heck of a time getting back into it's original shape but there's always a young person around to help me out.I absolutely love this product and would recommend it to anyone of any age. I can't wait to get more of them!Edit: 2 April 2025I just got two more in the mail. I couldn't be happier. I got Spaced Out and Chaos. The Chaos one is from the Lawrence Gartel series. It is absolutely beautiful! It's made with a different material that is shinier than the others. It just feels better. But don't get me wrong, I still love ALL of them!I do have one complaint though. I think this is an Amazon issue. There is one small area on the bottom of the box that it came in, where the name of the design is printed. It was very clear on my Element one. On the two that I got today there is a big, ugly, crooked bar scan code over the name of the design! It wouldn't peel off. I had to look it up but it wasn't on my order, so I had to go hunting for it. Yeah, I was Not happy! Do better, whomever did that!

Lasted 7 months
7 months in and one of the stickers couldn’t stand up to my 7yo and it doesn’t work the same. Tried fixing it but once it’s unstuck there’s no going back. Could be used as decoration in his room though because it does look cool.

Engaging and Fun!
This is a great way to think outside the box to figure out all the shapes. It also is a great way to help focus while occupying hands for those who need the stimuli.

Beautiful entertaining art puzzle
This could keep me enthralled for hours! Though after time you might start making the same shapes you’ve already made before, it is still fun and a beautiful experience. I would somewhat consider this a type of fidget toy, but I know it might not actually be referred to as such.

Is it authentic?
I'm thinking these are high-quality knockoffs. The magnets work pretty well within each (small) cube, but when you try to stick another one to it, it doesn't stick; the authentic Shashibo cubes will stick to each other. The stickers are in good condition and are holding up pretty well after several hours of play. I bought two and will keep them, but I'm pretty sure I bought expensive fakes.
