Amazon Basics 3-Color Temperature Level and 3-Section Dimming LED Cabinet Light, Linkable, Direct Wire, White Finish, 24-Inch

Firstly, the light itself functions perfectly. The 3 color temperature settings are great and the touch dimmer works like it should. As far as being a light goes it would have been 5 stars, but the dimmer only having 100%-50%-off seems useless and really should have at least 1 more interval to choose from. The biggest problem is the actual design. I bought the 32 inch model which does not have an opening anywhere near the center (where the existing wires I needed came out of the wall) so I had to drill through the back to be able to install where I wanted, I will say the pictures showed me this in advance and I was already prepared to do so. The access panel to do all the wiring also hinges in the worst location, the panel opens at the back of the unit and hinges in the center falling towards you when the light is hung up. Since the light practically needs to be hung in place before finishing the electrical connections that means it is completely in the way and blocking your view while working. Lastly, the other reviews stating the wire length for the location of the electrical connections being too short are entirely justified. There is no play inside the unit so unless you have an absurd length of wire coming from the wall or are doing fresh install and cutting to desired length, you WILL need to add more wiring. In my case the existing wires came out of the wall about 3 inches and were still about 6 inches too short to reach the wire connectors from the center of the unit. Overall, the light is great once it's installed and was a killer price. But it is NOT friendly for a simple DIYer, so if you don't feel particularly handy then go ahead and buy a different brand. If you are comfortable with breaking out extra tools and/or modifying the product to suit your needs then this is a great value, just expect to work harder than "installing a light" should take.

I think the headline say it all. Nice looking item. Low profile so not much space in the body. Once I got it wired used 2 sided tape to hold. Need to drill a pilot hole to then use the screws to mount. Instructions show just screwing into wood....sorry that didn't work. Pain to install but turned out fine in the end. Would probably buy again if needed.

Before purchasing these lights I bought an expensive under counter light, which wasn't even half as bright. I ordered these Amazon Basics brand and they are much brighter, attractive, and work perfectly.All in all, they are very easy to install minus one gotcha. They are pre-wired internally and give you a push plug to wire them in. Only the internal wiring is cut so short there's no room to maneuver household wiring into the push plug. If the manufacturer of these would add 1 inch more wiring between their transformer and the push plug it would be significantly easier to hook up.

First, the width of this light is about 4” with the electrical clamp connector. Something to consider if installing in a tight space.Second, what everyone says about the wire length is true. It is way too short. I suggest cutting a couple of wires to plug into the push-in connectors, then use wire nuts to attach the feed wires.Third, there are no punch outs on the back of the fixture. The feed wire for my fixture comes straight out of the bottom of my cabinet. I used a hole saw to drill out a hole on the back of the light to run the feed wire through. This allowed me to flush mount the fixture to the bottom of my cabinet.There are two light brightness settings and I kinda wish there was a third setting that is more dim so I could use it as a nightlight in the kitchen.Aside from these installation issues, I consider the light a good value for the cost. Other direct connect LED under cabinet lights are more expensive and may require an adapter.I’d buy this light again, because knowing what I know now, installation would be a breeze.

Physically, your back needs to be in good shape to install this product under a counter. The "install" is the big downer for this product. As others have noted, the existing pig tail connector wires are too short. You will have to "fiddle" with getting them connected and into position to close up the access cover - all the while twisting your back and neck under the counter.Possible work around: Pre-wire the light product with extension wire which will require twist on connects in addition to the existing connects (which work quite well). The existing wires need to be longer, otherwise, no Bueno.Using the light is five stars. There are three color temperatures to select from and each temperature can be set to High or Low or Off. I like it. Muy Bueno!

I liked the push electrical connections. However, because of the shortness of wiring on those push connectors make it very very difficult to make any connection for he fixture. Another obvious problem is that the cover is hinged on the front of the fixture closest to the LED. This is particularly to work with cover between you and your wiring work space and wiring. If the cover was hinged from the back of the fixture installing would be a great deal less frustrating and much easier. One last comment is that the diming feature is a good idea. However, if you install several light fixture together no matter what dimness is selected When the power is turned off the dimness selected is erased and the fixture reverts to the brightest setting. It would be better to have a dimness selector that would stay at that level until selected to another dimness. All things considered this product has good fit and finish and great features. Just two or three more thoughtful design changes would be very much appreciated.
