I just bought one, and am impressed by the quality, appearance, and function of this product. The fit and finish exudes very high quality, better than lamps of much higher cost.Note first of all, that it was difficult to get accurate information on the acceptable bulb types. The answer is that this has a "normal" screw-in base, same as the old style A19 lamps. However, an A19 will not fit because it is taller than the distance between the base and the cover. I have successfully installed a plain old 40w lamp (I think an A15 bulb shape), an R20 (LED), and a PAR20(LED). I believe both of the 2 sockets have a max rating of 60W. The reason I tried several bulbs is that I am picky about lighting experience and am trying to achieve a particular mood.The bulbs are accessible via unscrewing the end caps which are machined to fit perfectly into the barrel. The flange of each cap has a silicone seal which appears to provide a snug and waterproof seal.Mounting. As with all lamp mount jobs, it may be tricky depending on your site and your goal. I wanted mine to look exactly like the photo, and it ended up so. In order to accomplish this, be aware that they provide the round, circular base plate shown. It has a beautiful matching finish, but besides a center hole through which the wires pass, there are no other openings. So it is necessary to drill holes (2) to match the exact location of your house's mounting box, and once you have done that, you can then drill 2 more that attach the round plate to the provided male mounting foot (invisible). Once this is done, simply route and connect the wires to the fixture, place the female mounting foot on the fixture onto the male mounting foot, and cinch down 2 allen screws with provided wrench. It feels and looks solid and clean, and should have great water immunity.

The fit and finish of this sconce is exceptional! I would rate it 5 stars, if it weren't for the mounting. It comes with a circular plate to attached to a 4" round electrical box. Unfortunately, there are no holes in the plate! Consequently, you need to drill it yourself, which leaves unprotected edges. It can also be mounted without the plate, but it has a 3" x 4" mounting surface (too small to cover standard 2 gang electrical box).

Lights are fairly easy to install, work well and look great. The elements are very tough on our house, poor quality exterior items are usually destroyed within a couple of seasons. A year and a bit on from installing they look fantastic.When installing it helps to have another pair of hands for a few minutes as you mount everything, but they were straightforward to install once you decipher the instructions. Would buy again and am looking at the same brand to upgrade some other exterior lights

This light is very well designed and made. A real upgrade to the entrance to my house. East to install (replaced old light) and just looks great. Solid five stars; high quality product.

purchased two of these exterior sconces for my garage. both have failed within 6 months of purchase.

Ugly, not LED, and mounting brackets missing holes to put screws through. Found another fixture that was less and way nicer

Just painted my house. Looking for something new in lights. I love the idea of the up/down for my tall entry way.HOWEVER! The round plate that covers the electrical box DOES NOT HAVE PRE DRILLED HOLES!!!!WHAT THE HECK! No where do the instructions tell you this. So anyone that purchases these lights needs toOwn a PROPER DRILL? I’m a single woman and I can do just about anything….but I don’t have the properTools to drill these holes.Hate too…but will probably send them back

These are great looking lights outside our home. The light is perfect because you get to choose the brightness of the bulb (not included with the fixtures). We went with a 40 watt down and a 25 watt bulb up and the light give us right the right amount of light. Not too bright, but well enough to light up the front door and fairly easy to install. Perfect!
