Taken on its own merits (meaning that I'm not comparing it to the PS Vita versions of FIFA 12 or 13 because I don't own them), I think this is a fantastic game. The basic controls are easy to learn; on Amateur difficulty with two-button or touchscreen controls, it plays a lot like a smartphone game, so it's easy to hand to a friend for quick entertainment. However, as with most EA Sports titles, there's plenty of depth and difficulty for players who want it. The animations are smooth and the players look great on the small screen. The game offers a wide selection of teams, mostly the big-name leagues from Europe and the Americas, but also nearly 50 national teams, the Australian and Korean leagues, and a few popular teams from other leagues like Rangers or AEK Athens. The game feels a lot like its PS3 ancestor, both in terms of visual detail and in the sense that it has features that were, until recently, exclusive to home consoles, like a character creator and a career mode. If you don't currently have a football game on the Vita, this is a great place to start.

I know that many people are yelling that this is a total rip-off and are giving one star review because EA just updated rosters and kits for this Vita soccer game for one more year.Being a soccer fan and a fifa series follower, I own each and every edition of fifa for xbox and vita from 2006. I think this edition is good. There are brand new rosters, new kits; there are more real faces; and there are more leagues (Argentina, Chile, Columbia)! These things are all terrific and this game runs smoothly (at least up to now). EA is offering this product so we can play the game with up-to-date rosters, teams, and kits on the go.Yes, I would like to see some new features being added to this game. But, after all, this is just a soccer game for a handhold console. If you really want FUT, the new career mode, etc., just pick up your xbox/ps3 controller.I am satisfied and I am willing to give it 5 stars.
