Great value!
What a great knife!I’m not even sure why I ordered this knife in the first place. Something about it just caught my eye. So on an impulse, I laid out $66.98 ($72.34 after taxes) and three days later UPS drops it off.First of all, the packaging is slightly interesting. Everything is inside a sealed black ‘bag’ that you need to tear or cut open. Inside is the nylon sheath and the box containing the knife. The knife is inside a plastic bag and wrapped in bubble wrap.First impression: It’s light but solid.Second: There’s only one way to open the knife! You MUST use the flipper tab to deploy the blade. There is simply no other way to open it, period. That may be a deal breaker for some. In fact, it’s almost a deal breaker for me. However, when I use a knife that has a flipper tab, I almost exclusively use it to deploy the blade. That said, I do like to have at least two ways to open a knife. I prefer a flipper and either a thumb stud/hole or the simple expedient of pulling the blade out with my free hand. None of that is an option with this knife. All that aside, the blade deploys flawlessly. It locks open like a bank vault door closes, it’s that solid. There is absolutely NO play in the blade, not even the tiniest bit no matter how hard I work it. It really is that solid.Third: The blade. It’s really very nice. The pattern is quite symmetrical on either side, though there is some variation, of course. Yes, it really is Damascus steel! Take a look at the picture I included with this review. You can clearly see the layers. Someone said the pattern is printed on, I have an old but still very functional optical microscope which I used to nearly burn my eyes out to count the layers of steel in the blade. There really are exactly 33 layers on either side of the much thicker central core, making up 67 layers, as advertised! No, you cannot scratch the pattern off!The back of the blade has a nice katana-like curve which continues smoothly through the back of the handle . The main edge of the blade has a nice subtle curve, while the tips edge is almost completely straight. The blade should be decently easy to sharpen, though VG10 is on the hard side. And, as many others have stated, the blade is not particularly sharp out of the box, it’s going to need some work, maybe a lot.Fourth: Fit and finish. The knife is very well constructed! There is no looseness or rattle. Everything is good and tight. The blade is dead center in the frame.Fifth: Ergonomics. This is where the knife loses a star. I like tip-up pocket carry so this knife is fine in that area, but the clip could be better placed, much higher up the frame so it carries deeper in the pocket. For some reason, this knife just doesn’t fit quiet right in my hand. The curve in the back of the handle leaves just a bit too much space between my hand and the handle so it doesn’t fill my hand well. The back corner of the butt of the handle pokes into my palm uncomfortably. I don’t have large or small hands, they’re pretty average Caucasian male hands, so size isn’t the issue. I dunno, it’s not super uncomfortable, I’m still going to carry it occasionally, just not while working, hiking or hunting. It’ll be great for when I dress up a bit, for sure! It’s very handsome! From many years of owning many knives I feel very confident that the handle really is titanium. I have no way of knowing if the core of the blade really is VG10, though I have no reason to doubt it, especially considering how everything else advertised holds true. All in all, I feel we are getting a lot of knife for 70-ish dollars, despite the few flaws.

Great value
Like most of the reviews, I am very satisfied with my purchase. Fit and finish appears very good. However, I don’t see that anyone else has mentioned that the opening mechanism takes a little bit more effort than some of my similarly priced knifes from other manufacturers, such as Kershaw or SOG, I also saw a number of reviews that stated that their knife was dull or very dull, and that is definitely not the case with the knife I received. This is razor sharp, literally. Easily shaved hair off my arm and sliced into rope and paper I have been using this for several weeks now and haven’t noticed any dulling of the blade at this point. I am currently looking at several of their other offerings

Real Damascus Blade!
When I started looking for a new EDC pocketknife to replace my old worn-out Gerber I had carried for years, I had no idea how out of touch I was with modern knives and blade steels! My goal was to find one I would not have to sharpen very often, and would be easy to sharpen. In the beginning I mistakenly thought VG-10 must be about the best steel out there because somebody else recommended it to me.And I also wanted a Damascus blade for extra toughness and cool look. So when I ran across this one on Amazon from Tactical Gearz I decided it was worth a try, but did not expect anything too amazing, and had not heard of this company before. So I was pleasantly surprised to find a massively built, well aligned, and balanced knife inside the box. I was apprehensive about whether the blade would be real Damascus steel or not, as reviews I have read for other Damascus knives in this price range seemed to indicate some trickery going on with laser engraving. So I took a careful look all around the outside perimeter of the blade, and sure enough there is clear evidence that it is truly a layered blade - see photo. Also worth mentioning is that the blade pivot needed no adjustment at all.The knife arrived sharpened but not paper cutting sharp like in the U tube videos, so some work is required to finish the sharpening process to get a real razors edge on these. For all it's massive appearance the knife is fairly light at 4.4 oz due to the titanium alloy handles and becomes unnoticeable in my knife pocket very quickly. The blade's core is supposed to be VG-10, a medium range stainless on the delicate side a bit, but backed up by a thick Damascus blade, it should be tough enough to hold up okay and be easy enough to sharpen occasionally. The knife has a more aggressive style than the usual utility knife, so it's looks, it's 3.5" length and the fast and secure click as it opens will definitely raise a few eyebrows in some circles. On the other hand, it's beautiful blade could be a conversation starter too. Granted knowing what I do now, I realize this is not my ideal EDC knife for Every Day, but certainly for Some days. Overall, a very impressive piece for under $70!

Nice knife but could come sharper
I ordered the black knife with the damascus steel blade. I own many very high ends knives and the build of this knife compares with the quality of those high end knives. This knife looks great, the blade deploys and locks up flawlessly. The damascus steel pattern is beautiful. The knife feels good in the hand and seems well balanced. I will be proud to show this knife off to my friends. However , I took one star off because it doesn’t come very sharp. I actually ordered two of these knives. One for my adult son and one for me. My son even commented when he opened his knife… “this doesn’t come very sharp, does it dad?” So he is not going to carry his new knife until he gets it sharpened. If the manufacture were to step up their game and send these knives out sharp, they would have a product that is about perfect.
