WITTERTowbars Fixed Flange Towbar (4 hole) for VW Transporter/Multivan/Caravelle T4 (08/1991-11/2003)

My main worry, will it fit ?A knock at the door as the delivery man struggled with the large cardboard box telling me that it was extremely heavy - yep, so right as I struggled to carry it over the threshold. On opening the box I was struck by how meaty the metal was in its construction which basically consisted of two arms to attach to my van's chassis and the crosspiece which is bolted to the arm ends which carries the tow ball. The fitting of the said towbar took a bit of doing as the van was 20 years old and the discovery of threaded fixing points on the chassis - how neat that VW foresaw the probability that someone might want to fit a towbar in the future and make provision ! The problem was the threads needed to be tapped out to rmove the rust and dirt. That took forever, that and a trip to my toolshop for a set of taps (and dies).After that hurdle the rest was like Meccano. The Witter towbar kit included every nut bolt and washer needed bar the locking washers for fitting the towball itself. Very happy with it. It now allows the carrying our bikes outside of the van which was a bit of a pain re dirty tyres rubbing up against the R&R bed and units etc.
