No surprises here — the quality is excellent, just as expected from Jandy. It was easy to install and works perfectly with the actuator. Fit 2" pipes.

For some reason my pool builder didn't put a shutoff valve on the main drain line. I didn't realize I needed one until I started learning about vacuuming the pool floor. Rather than waiting for the pool builder to have some time to install it for me, I ordered a Jandy valve and took on the job myself. It was a pretty simple job. The only challenge was figuring out a way to keep the water from the drain line away from the area where the new valve was to be installed. For that I used a balloon attached with a thin hose zip tied to it. By blocking the water, I was able to keep the work area clean and dry. When the cpvc cement dried, I simply let the air out of the balloon and pulled it out and put the valve back together. So far it has worked perfectly and my pool vac has so much more suction power now.

Used this when upgrading the pipes and valves for my pool pump and sand filter. It’s a high-quality, genuine Jandy valve that feels very solid—I expect it to last for decades. Nice bonus that replacement parts will be easy to find in the future if I ever need them.

Only buy Jandy valves. I purchased one like it and leaked at the screws from day one. I did not over tighten, as these don't need to be tightened, just snug. I have purchased 5 Jandy valves for my pool, and haven't had any problem with any of them. Good product, cost is a bit more but not having a problem is worth it. You don't want to remove after re-plumbing your pool.

it's tough to rate these because they need to last for many years. I had a hard time installing it because I had 8 joints to glue and set at once..nearly impossible a task to do! I hope it holds up over time. On the outside, it seems very durable and solid. I prefer it over many other alternative valves out there. I will say that it is so solid I don't regret my purchase. I don't think I'll have to revisit this value for replacement for 8+years.

This gate valve is much better that the cheap pvc twist type ball valves. I hade some pool plumbing redone 2 years ago and at the time the cheap ball valves were used. Two summers was all it took for the sun to make the pvc valves brittle to the point that 2 of the 4 valves broke. One was at the twist handle and one had broken a chip out at the coupler. I chose to replace all the valves with these Jandy gate valves. The operation is much smoother and based on research these seem to be high quality. My experience with them is that they are far superior to the twist style ball valves. They are on their first summer season but are just as easy to open/close as the day they arrived. The install is the same as the pvc ball valves but these are much thicker. Time will tell but I have since installed shading over the exposed plumbing to prevent further sun damage and I believe these are of much higher quality.
