I'm a beginner and I purchased this because I wanted to make a lifestyle change and I hate going to the gym and would rather set up a home gym. I'm not an experienced trainer or anything but I am beyond happy with this mat and the price I paid for it compared to similar ones on the market. It's very high quality and I like the texture as well. I went from completely sedentary to doing HIIT exercises on this mat everyday (definitely not recommended for beginners like me but I did it anyway lmfao and the results are great! want to slim down instantly while getting a bigger ass? its the way to go) and whether its cardio, strength training, or yoga, I feel like I can do everything comfortably on this mat. Some skinny people were complaining it isnt as big as advertised but I personally found this mat to be bigger than I expected and its more than big enough for my purposes. and im not skinny. I have a carpet floor and this mat hardly moves around, it only moves around slightly when I work out on it with my partner. I will say that there is definitely a breaking in period for this mat especially if youre doing something like HIIT, it will be very slippery when you first start especially if you get sweat on the mat. but I've found that working around this has added another element to improve my fitness, and for me it stopped being slippery after I worked out on it about 15 or so times. As a bonus, I'm also a cat owner and my cat really loves to stretch out on this mat and dig her claws into it and scratch it. She does this a lot and so far there haven't been any marks or signs of damage! So I can definitely feel the durability of this mat and I can see it lasting for years, which makes me feel like it was money well spent. The listing doesnt advertise this but this mat also comes with a set of gloves for training, which I didnt expect but was a very nice surprise! I haven't used them personally. This mat is kind of big and heavy to carry around but I don't move it at all so that's fine with me. Highly recommend, this mat is enough to make my own personal gym and I'm happy that this is just a one-time purchase I had to make and that I wont have to spend hundreds per month for a gym subscription. I love that I'm losing weight without paying the industry that profits off of body image issues and eating disorders.

As someone who works out all the time, I’m really picky about my gear — and this mat absolutely delivers. The quality is outstanding, the thickness is perfect for high‑impact workouts, and it gives me plenty of space to move without slipping or sliding. It feels durable, supportive, and way better than the standard mats you see everywhere. If you’re serious about your home workouts, this one is worth every penny. A little pungent odor at first but it soon dissipates.

Sturdy workout mat

We have been hit with a pandemic, we are required to stay at home except for essential activities: grocery store, gas, hospital, and outdoor activity. Going to gyms is not considered essential. I was watching my husband do a workout video and the instructor had an exercise mat. And I thought "That's exactly what I need!" I have carpet so exercise is a challenge especially since we do not wear shoes in the home so I was working out barefoot. I came to Amazon looking for the mat that I saw in the instructor's video and saw this item as well. I decided on this one instead and I'm glad I did. It is perfect. It does not take up too much space but it is enough space for two people to work out comfortably. I can now work out in shoes and I feel steady, it almost makes me feel like I'm in the gym. It is sturdy and I did take away one star because it does slide on carpet. If you exercise really hard, it will slide without something holding it down while on carpet. However, this has not been too much of an issue. Its shock absorbent and my knees thank it. I would recommend this. I have had it for two weeks and have used it every day, first day, it was slippery but I broke it in very quickly simply by working out on it. Since we are all stuck in our homes, if you want to workout with a more solid base, this might be helpful for you.

This is a genuinely impressive exercise mat! The thickness makes for a surprisingly comfortable level of support on a hardwood floor, which has been leaps and bounds better than previous experiences using a less supportive mat on this hard surface. My feet and joints are already benefiting from this mat’s superior cushioning, and it is nice being able to move around freely for the first time on an over-sized, durable mat that can handle shoes. I also had no idea how much I’d enjoy the workout gloves. This was a great find and well worth the price!

Love this mat! It’s super durable, never slippery, and easy to roll up when I’m done. I even brought it to a trunk-or-treat event to create a little dance floor in front of our SUV for our Monster Mash theme. It’s so versatile and feels like it’ll last for years of workouts and fun.

I was looking for a mat for my home gym, read other reviews and ordered this baby! I have to say that I was really impressed with how it arrived. It arrives fully wrapped with velcro straps that hold the mat closed in its storage bag (I didn't expect a storage bag but it's a great addition to allow for rolling up if you don't want it out all the time!) An extra bonus?? There's a pair of lifting gloves included!! Who includes anything as a bonus anymore?? The mat itself is easy to wipe down, doesn't slip and marks from equipment aren't left after your workouts. It's not thickly padded so if you're looking for something with a the give to protect your knees when jump roping or something like that, you won't quite get that. However, for yoga and pilates, I put my yoga mat on top and it provides a really nice, cushy surface. As far as sizing, it fits my Flybird bench with room to spare. If you're looking for a super large basement mat, this may not be for you but at a measurement of 4' x 6', there's plenty of room to work out and protect your floor. For side to side movements like a squat side shuffle, I move on the diagonal. Overall, 5 stars on this one!

Since COVID I've been working out from home in my tiny NYC apartment. I sweat A LOT and have hardwood floors, so when I work out I would start slipping on the floor and no sneakers (I have so many..) helped. Then I invested in this mat. I know it might seem a bit steep, but SO worth it. I was worried about durability because some of the reviews showed wear and tear after a few weeks, but it seemed like customer service was great so I went for it. I have had this now for 4 months and not a scratch or a dent (except for the ones my cats work so hard on causing...). I use it for 2 hours a day, 6 days a week, for lifting, kickboxing, bodyweight exercises and it's perfect for all. It's not too thick so I don't feel like i'm sinking into it, but just thick enough so I can do core work on the floor without a towel, and my knees feel so much better after kickboxing, than on the hardwood floor. Cleans easily - wipe down with a damn towel. My only (tiny) issue is that when I do kickboxing it slightly moves - just a few inches right or left. I blame the hardwood floor, as the mat does have a bottom surface that should be able to keep it in place. I am moving to a different apartment soon and hoping the new floor won't have the same issue. If anyone has the same issue and found a solution, would love to hear.
