In my view, this is not a beginners book but as long as you have a good working knowledge of basic web principles and programming fundamentals from any language this book has great value for anyone wanting to learn PHP. The MYSQL section is also very informative just not as in depth as the PHP section, however it does enough to get you going with working on the web. The MYSQL section does not dive into deep database design principles, however that is not the scope of this book. I'm glad it kept it simple as the main goals are to get an interactive website up and running.
