Amazing for other use.
I bought this product thinking that they would allow, the 8bitdo Ultimate 2 to connect to the ps4, but its not compatible so i had to return it on for that reason. I was misinformed, i now know the adabter only allow you to connect other controllers like a ps4/ps5/xbox to a switch/pc etc.

Works perfectly.
Worked straight out of the box for my Nintendo switch, my friend can now connect his Xbox controller to it to play alongside me. Joycons just feel too small and not comfortable to use even for my small hands so this way he can use a controller he's comfortable with, some features obviously don't work as he's not using a Nintendo controller of some kind but it's good enough for now. This 8bitdo works on any switch console and let's you use whichever controller you like on it, I think you do need to connect it to a laptop for some software or updates for it to work for some things, but I've not had to so far.

Great alternative to joy cons
It’s a bit of a pain in the ass to get initially set up but once set up, it has no issues and is so much cheaper and easier than buying and using joy-cons. I use my Xbox controller and it’s also more comfy than joy cons. Only downside is some games need motion which Xbox or PlayStation won’t have but it works for everything else!

Can use Switch Pro con with Epic & Xbox App on PC
PC user. While the Switch Pro controller works flawlessly with Steam, it will not work with the other launchers like Epic and the Xbox app for PC. I've exhausted every software method available to get it working with these launchers with little to no success, and lots of inconvenience. This thing works! The instructions out of the box are pretty poor, and you MUST use their website. You must first update the firmware. You then sync connection, then you MUST set the input method to XINPUT (once synced, on the Pro Controller, you hold - & d-pad up for 3 seconds). There are other input methods for other scenarios, again, you need to read this on their website.Once synced, you can reconnect in a spilt second, which is nice! I have noticed that waking the PC from sleep, I need to unplug the stick and plug back in for connection to work again. All in all I knocked 1 star off for these issues, but hopefully they will be fixed soon along with some other firmware updates (would be nice to see the Switch Pro con home light working, currently not on 8bitdo). But as far as getting the Pro con working on PC, it definitely remedies the situation very well, and spending £15 on this is, is much cheaper than buying yet another controller.

Works with Switch 2 and Series X controller after firmware update
I had the V1 adapter which didn't work, but the V2 does, but it does require you to update the firmware of the dongle. If you Google "8bitdo firmware update" it'll be the top result. After updating the firmware, my Series X controller works perfectly on my Switch 2.

Awful out of the box experience
Given the simple instructions, I thought I’d be in for smooth sailing here. How wrong I was.I connected the adapter to my Switch, I pressed the sync button on the adapter, I pressed the share and PS button on my Dualsense controller. Nada, wouldn’t sync.Next up I try a Series S/X controller, which synced immediately. However it was completely unresponsive to use. Not a single input would register. Now I’m not happy.I dig out my old Wii U pro controller, it syncs immediately, same issue as with the Xbox controller however, no inputs would register. Some googling and searching later. Try putting the Switch to sleep then waking it. Still no input from the controllers.Maybe it requires a firmware update for the adapter, but that should really be up to date for a NEW product. At least I would’ve thought. I will attempt that next, but if it’s still unsuccessful I’ll be returning this product with much haste.

A great way to give life to old controllers
I bought this for my Nintendo Switch to enable four player play (having already got a first generation version of this adapter some years ago, which gave me a third). These things are brilliant for giving a new lease of life to old controllers and opening up multiplayer in a cost-effective way, and they work flawlessly in operation - you honestly wouldn't know any difference from native controllers (except for the inherently wrong feeling of controlling Mario with a Dualshock controller!)A note for others: you need one of these adapters for each controller you intend to use, and you can use them just fine with a usb splitter - including on the Nintendo Switch, which is important because the adapters themselves are so wide that you couldn't fit two of them side by side in the Switch's built-in USB ports on the side - possibly the only design flaw of these otherwise brilliant little devices.
