Complete GARBAGE! Works 1 out of 20 times

The media could not be loaded.  The most important thing to know about this company is that they will never respond to your request for help. I am an engineer, and I am an expert in wireless technologies. I have spent at least ten hours replacing them, doing wireless signal and packet captures and have come to the conclusion that they are actual garbage. Why do you think you can buy them “like new” all day long here?My set up is very simple. I have two switches, side-by-side, “controlling” two sets of lights. They are now Cree multi temperature, dimmable color, changing smart bulbs. They used to be. Bulbs from another vendor, but I spent a fortune replacing all of them thinking that if I had all Cree products that I might have a chance of getting support. The process to program the switches is ridiculous, but once you figure it out, it’s fairly straightforward. You have to hop on one leg wink while singing, the Star-Spangled Banner, and this which will show up in your application dashboard. That’s not the exact way you do it, but that’s what it feels like. Once you get the switch programmed, it seems to work somewhat reliably. By that I mean that if you push the switch for just the right amount of time, one out of three times the lights will go on or off. Sometimes, some of the lights go off, but the others. stay on. I have a $12,000 wireless signal analyzer and the entire area is free from Bluetooth interference of any kind. I the way the switch should work is be connected to the wireless net work and use Bluetooth as back up. If it can’t communicate with the Internet. However, it’s just Bluetooth. After a few days, you can be guaranteed that the switch will be dead as a door nail from the perspective of being a better use at all. It’s of course, still powered, there’s been no power interruption, but yet all it does is flash the light when you push the button and does absolutely nothing. I even went so far as to go under the house and run a separate neutral wire to the second switch because I thought perhaps there was someway that was causing the problem. That’s how idiotic I’ve become, knowing that the neutral bus is shared, and only the breakers Separate devices on each side (2x 110v) of the breaker panel). The most unfortunate part about it is that when I opened the junction box up for the switches, which had four holes, one of which was not used anymore due to a kitchen remodel, I decided I would pull out that four gang box and replace it with a two, and run all of the cans lights off one of the switches and the bar lights off the other. I patch up the drywall, repainted and unfortunately for me had the bright idea of just taping off and moving the wire I wasn’t using outside the junction box. Therefore, there is no going back unless I tear out the junction box and put a three gang box back in.The switches, nor the application to offer any diagnostic logging, and my five requests over the last six months for support has gone on, answered. You can’t get a human being on the phone to save your life. It’s very sad, considering this company was born and raised in my great state of North Carolina but is now part of some mega brand called Smart Global holdings. Unfortunately, their sales have dropped to under100 million so maybe they will go out of business and I will lose hope of these pieces of garbage ever working.

Esphome capable for Home Assistant

Was able to flash this with Esphome or Openbeken for local only control. Using this with Home Assistant to trigger different scenes and smart lights. I just wish it had 1 relay to replace the switch in the junction box. I solved this using a 2 relay single gang smart switch.

For the price, its very disappointing

The product barely does the job, its difficult to connect but as soon as you get it the other ones will be easier. It is designed only for cree lights, and honestly it stops working many many times, so basically you cant rely only on them (better also have an Alexa to control your lights just in case). The only reason i have to buy them is because i have multiple airbnbs and if there is am internet failure, this controllers help as they connect to the lights trough Bluetooth. They are made of good quality plastic. And they look good in the wall.

Only works if you have other cree products

I bought this remote as a “smart remote”, but it does not meet the bar. It requires other Cree lighting systems to operate, and is impossible to pair without them.It is advertised as “no hub needed”, which is not accurate since it does require a hub — that hub is just another bulb. It forces you into the cree system and does not work over WiFi as a smart switch because of the requirement to have cree products.I’m disappointed that this is another vendor trying to force vendor lock. Was unable to see if it actually works because I was hoping it was actually a compatible smart remote.

Total waste! Poor Smartthings Integration and doesn't work with IFTTT well either

If you are interested because of its Smartthings integration move on to something else. This is not a device controller that can control devices in Smartthings. This can only control devices in the Cree lighting app or Smart Life App. This was a total waste of money for me and a total waste of time. It can't even be integrated using IFTTT to control devices. Steer clear!!! The Leviton 4 button Handler is better, it's not great either, but can be used to control devices in Smartthings via IFTTT. Pairing this was also difficult as other reviewers mentioned, but easier in Smart Life than in the Cree App.

Couldn't use it until...

First of all, the "detailed instructions" fail to recognize that many dumb light switches have a load wire and what should be done with it. I figured it out and I'm 100% confident it's all wired correctly. I turn off and on the lights that are to be controlled through that switch, using the app. They have power because I have the hot line in connected to the load and the black wire of the switch using a Wago 3-wire lever nut. The neutral wires in the wire box were all twisted together and they are now connected to a 5-wire lever nut so that the neutral from the switch can connect with them. The ground is connected as well. So I hold the on switch down for more than 3 seconds and also tried more than 5 seconds (depends on which instructions you read, the app or the printed ones), and the light does flash. It says it should flash rapidly but it seems more of a slow flash to me. After a short while it goes off. I didn't get a new device notification or anything show up in the cree lighting connected max android app under all devices. Adding manually only shows instructions. I want this to work. Right now it looks like I wasted the money.Update: Not long after I gave a 1 star review (this review, now upgraded to 3 stars) I tried one last thing and it worked. I saw that within the cree lighting app on android, there is a clear cache option. I did that. Then I shut off the circuit from the circuit breaker panel. Rebooted my phone. After the phone came up, I turned the circuit breaker back on and started the procedure over again -- and it finally worked. They need to improve the instructions and it would be nice if it paired more easily right away, but once it's working, it works.
