This box is well crafted. It is very lightweight but will do what I want it to do. The bottom and lid are plywood, the body and sides are pine and has been machined well with the corners rounded off.It's bare wood but I will stain it and add handles and feet to finish.Recommended.

Brilliant just what I needed.. it is strong enough for what I need.. But if you want to put some thing heavy in the box, you may need some thing a bit stronger..

A good solid box is ruined by the 3mm ply top and base. Depends what you need it for. The top and base will not withstand any weight. Ok if you want shabby-chic, there are patches of glue and finger-prints which will not sand out and show when varnished. I painted it with a matt varnish and the top bubbled (like when you get ply-wood wet), I daren't sand any more off. Not suitable for children as the wood is too rough and the hinges are VERY sharp. Its just "ok" for what I need.

Returned it - hinge very poor quality and had totally pulled out and wood split near it . The finish of the wood was good . The box it came in was badly damaged and wet . There was no lining between the wood box and the outer cardboard . This was just what I wanted so it was a shame .

Nice handles on sides make it easy to lift.Poor quality support to keep the lid up but otherwise quite sturdy
