Great quality, easy to set up, very pleased
Only been playing around this computer for a week or so, but so far it is top notch, lots of speed on start up and lots of memory. Could not be happier.

Good Stuff
First of all, it was extremely easy to set up—just plug in a power cable, put the batteries into the keyboard and mouse, and go. (One thing you need to know, if you want to use the wireless mouse and keyboard that come with it, you need to slide the cover off the mouse, get the little wireless USB dongle out of it, and plug it into a USB port on the back of the computer. It’s shipped and stored in the mouse so you don’t lose it, but it only works in the computer. No idea why these things don’t just use Bluetooth, but surely there’s a reason). The keyboard and mouse work fine, but feel cheap, like toys. Those are the first things I would upgrade. This computer is essentially a laptop set on end and stuck to a big screen, but there’s no space-related reason to be stuck with a pretty bad laptop keyboard. This isn’t really a ding on Dell, though. Even Apple iMacs come with keyboards and mice that are more or less terrible and need to be upgraded quickly. After turning it on, it goes through some Windows housekeeping. The whole setup took maybe 15 minutes. Add in another 15 minutes for removing the included McAfee suite which is intrusive, cannot be trusted to look after your interests, and is best removed immediately. Use the built-in Windows Defender as your antivirus, or pick something paid like Malwarebytes (in general, free antivirus programs are really just a form of malware these days. If you don’t like the built in Windows Defender antivirus, it’s best to pay for something else. The free software is going to pester you constantly and send information about you back to the mothership.) Also, don’t forget to run Windows Update. There were a bunch of updates needing to be downloaded and installed for me.After that’s done, run the Dell Support Assist app.. it will update some of your drivers. That’s another 15 minutes or so to complete. Now, you’re ready.Using the computer is smooth and straightforward. The unit is whisper quiet most of the time The 1080p graphics on that big, beautiful 27” touch screen monitor means that writing and icons look quite large on the screen compared to my other 27” monitors which have higher resolution. But 1080 is a fine resolution for most jobs other than professional photography or video production. If you want to add a second monitor, there’s an HDMI port on back, and it appears that you can also use the built in monitor as an external monitor for another source. Most people won’t need to do this, but it’s great that you have the ability to add another monitor, in case you did want to professionally process photos or do some medium-duty video editing. Of course, you can do both these things with the built in 1080p monitor, but it’s just harder with only 1080p to work with. By the way, the touchscreen works brilliantly, and if you like to use touch screens, you’ll like this one. (Note: not all versions in this listing come with a touch screen. If you want this feature, be careful which one you order). After getting it set up, removing the bloatware, and updating Windows, I ran some benchmarks. Screenshots of those are included. Suffice to say this is not a power user’s workhorse, but it’s plenty sprightly for home use. Watching media, emailing, web browsing, light photo and video processing (and other content creation)—all these things can be done quickly and without irritating lapses and delays. The computer itself is pretty good looking in person. I was expecting it to be heavier, but it’s reasonably light yet feels solid. The screen angle can be changed, but not its height, which is how most all in ones, including my iMacs, are designed. Unlike the 27” iMacs, this one has no easy way to add RAM. Fortunately, at 16GB, the RAM should be more than sufficient for the household tasks the computer was designed to accomplish. There are two storage devices inside. One, a 512GB SSD, is super fast and is designed for applications and executables, although it’s large enough to hold a lot more. The other is a 1TB spinning disk. It’s helpful to keep your actual files and documents on this disk, so that if you need to wipe the Windows disk and reinstall Windows sometime down the line, all of your personal documents will be safe on the second disk. You can change where new files are stored in “Control Panel > Storage > Change where new content is saved.” If you don’t get in there and adjust these settings, your big spinning 1 TB drive will remain empty. What about gaming? This computer is not designed for cutting edge 3D gaming. That said, I did install Steam on mine and ran through a game of Civilization V and it did just fine. Likely it will run older 3D games respectably, due to its Nivida laptop graphics card and relatively low-resolution, low-refresh monitor. And of course, non-3D games (Solitaire, Mine Sweeper, etc. are in the bag.) But, there is no possibility to upgrade the graphics card, and it’s likely that a high end card would generate too much heat for the enclosure even if there were a way. This is a compromise you must make with most all-in-ones. There are iMacs with more sophisticated 3D graphics cards, but none of them are upgradable either. If you’re not into 3D gaming and just want a compact, simple, modern desktop all-in-one at a competitive price, this Dell is a great choice. My unit is relatively new, and I’m going to visit back here a with any updates if needed, but for now, I’m pretty happy.

Beautiful.
I was suffering with another brand all in one that was slow and noisy and extremely frustrating. Got this, took it out of the box and plugged it in and my life is transformed. Fast, beautiful display, whisper quiet, super simple to set up. I don't do anything fancy with it, but it looks great, sounds great and is nicely responsive. No regrets on this purchase.
