Great for the everyday use and firearm carriers.
Love these belts. I have been using them for years and they hold up to the every use of those of us who carry a firearm for a living. Will not twist like other light weight belts because of the permastiff lining.

Buy this belt and there will be no need for another!
I'll attempt to conduct this, and all future reviews on products I buy, using the following criteria: Quality (Perceived and Actual), Durability, Price (in comparison to similar products), Relevant technical specsQuality: The quality of this belt is very high, and the components used are top-notch as well. The leather is a smooth, fine-grain leather. The belt is two pieces of leather with a PermaStiff insert sandwiched in between, which is what gives this product its superb ability to carry weight without sagging or bending. The buckle is lightly brash-polished and the matching fasteners (that hold the belt together) give it a touch of class. Verdict: 5/5Duability: I purchased this belt on Amazon because the local retailer didn't have it in stock, nor were they able to order it anytime soon. I previously purchased a 5.11 Basketweave leather belt from a local retailer for my concealed carry and daily use, and I'm never going back to another belt! The perma-stiff insert has held up for quite a while and is still stiff, but obviously has loosened up due to daily use in the most commonly-bent areas (near the insert holes, etc). You can see this in the attached pictures as I compare my old (black) belt to the new (brown) one. The black belt has lasted me well over a year and the only signs of wear are on the leather itself from my old holster's (Crossbreed) metal clips --- no fault of the belt manufacturer at all. I won't comment to the specific durability of this (brown) belt, but since the black belt is almost identical and has held up well over the past year, I expect the same from this new belt. Tentative verdict: 5/5Price: The price is right on point. Local retailer had this belt for $40 + tax and Amazon had it for about the same ($38.73 as of November 2014). I've seen belts go for as low as $20 to well over $100 (some of the Galco or other "high end" belts), but I firmly place my trust in this product. For a belt that I expect to last me years, $40 is a very small price to pay. Verdict: 5/5Fitment: Since this is an article of clothing, an additional category describing fit is important. I am a 5'10.5" Male, 25 years old, with a weight of 170lbs. I wear a size 34 pant with a 32 inseam. By all observations I'm a very slender/athletic guy, and buying a belt online was a bit of a gamble as I wasn't sure it would fit right. Since I previously own a 5.11 belt, I purchased the same size (Large) for this belt. I haven't had any issues with the belt being too large or too small -- if anything, I have room on either side of my current belt loophole for growth/shrinkage. I currently use the 3rd/4th hole (counting from the middle of the belt, not the end) depending on whether or not I am carrying my holster. Verdict: 5/5I wanted to choose a belt that would look great in my work clothes or alongside a suit, but still rigid enough for me to carry my firearm (either Glock 23, .40S&W (13+1) or S&W M&P Shield in .40S&W (7+1). This belt has served great in that purpose and I'm thrilled! I plan to purchase the black version of this belt once my current basketweave one wears out, and perhaps keep a spare on hand just in case! Never again will I be swayed at a gun show by a fast-talking salesman to buy a "premium" $50 belt that didn't even last 3 months ;)Long story short: BUY THIS BELT!! You won't regret it!

More belt for same price
Overall, I like 5.11's leather belts and own several of them. The price is on the expensive side for what I am willing to pay for a belt, but they are plenty stiff to support a holster or other gear. I believe this is due to a plastic stiffener sewn between two layers of leather. The unique feature of the product is that is has a little bit of elastic sewn into the inside back of the belt to hold a handcuff key. It will also fit a Derma-safe saw if you're concerned with eventually being able to free youself from plastic Zip Tie-type cuffs. After I bought this belt off Amazon, I found them on clearance on 5.11's site for $5 a belt ... so I picked up a few more if various sizes and colors. They wear well. My only complaint really is that the dark Brown color scratches with with wear, resulting in lighter colored scratches, but that's pretty typically for a dyed leather belt in this price/quality range. The belt came wrapped in a plastic sleeve so it wouldn't scratch. No complaints about the vendor.

Nice durable belt
Good belt. It is internally reinforced so it stays stiff if that’s what you’re wanting. It wears well with anything.

You'll not be disappointed if you follow some helpful hints
A lot of people don't understand how pistol belts are made. Pistol belts can be made from two layers of cow or horsehide making them very thick. Another way to to achieve rigidity is to sandwich a polymer layer between two pieces of leather laminate. This belt is of the latter construction method. This technique is also used in nylon gun belts (Wilderness Tactical/Instructor).The layer of leather on the outside of the belt is thin to accomplish a rigid belt without the bulk of the double layer designs. If you understand this, you'll not be disappointed if you follow some helpful hints. If you use IWB holsters with clips (especially metal) you'll realize more durability from a double layer leather belt (see Mernickle gun leather). If you use Kydex holsters/mag pouches (with abrasion from loops), you'll likely be happier with the nylon or double layer leather belts. Those who will be happiest with this design (High Noon uses the same design BTW) are users of IWB holsters with leather loops as opposed to clips and leather mag pouches that snap on or have leather (less abrasive) slots. If you must use Kydex, Blade-Tech Tek-Lok mounting system that opens /closes to place on the belt is probably your best choice.Sizing - it's hard to get a belt that works well for carrying a double stack pistol like a Glock 30 IWB and then use the same belt to carry the same gun in an OWB holster without having some extra belt tongue. As an example, I have a large belt. I wear size 32 jeans, I carry the G30S IWB in a High Noon holster with straps and a snap on single mag pouch. In this configuration, the buckle tang goes through the middle hole (there are seven belt holes) and this is about perfect. For OWB carry, I am of course going to have some extra belt. So, if I was going to carry OWB predominantly , I should go with the medium size (I bought this belt mostly for IWB carry hence the size large).Hopefully this review helps as people most disappointed with this type of belt are those who use metal clips or abrasive kydex belt loop holsters which wears off the exterior leather laminate exposing the polymer middle layer. Stick with IWB with leather loops, leather OWB holsters/mag pouches and this is the belt for you (If you carry a gun a lot you're likely to have several belt/holster/pouch configurations).

Works as intended
This belt works well. It is rigid enough for every day carry. The belt looks like a nice dress belt and can be worn with suit. There are stiffer belts out there but this one works nicely with a little give for comfort. Only down side is that the belt wears easily at points with items clipped on the outside.
