Anglotopia's Dictionary of British English 2nd Edition: British Slang from A to Zed

As an anglophile this book is a must-have to have when learning different English idioms and words commonly used in Great Britain as well as Ireland and Scotland. This book also gives you slang terms as well as offensive terms which I found very helpful because American English is a shared language but not all words translate the same. I have already used it when watching some of my favorite BBC shows and recognize some of the words! This will be very helpful when I visit London and Great Britain.

I was forewarned but had hoped for a few more British words and regional terms for food items and everyday things. Most of the body-part slang I had already picked up from context.

It's great fun to read. I wish it had a longer Cockney rhyming slang chapter, but I say that about most British slang books and pages/websites. It's not really a complaint, that. I quite like the book. It's come in handy with my writing on many occasions, and so I'm a happy camper. -- Recommended.

Super handy dictionary of British English for Americans with appeal to a wide age range. Succinct definitions and examples with bits of humor sprinkled throughout.

Love the use of British slang. I knew a great deal of it but learned some new and interesting words as well as their correct usage.
