SwanCalamine Lotion, 6 Oz

Great brand. Other brands put in anti-itch lotion, which defeats the whole purpose because the lotion is greasy so it does not dry out and makes the calamine not work like it's supposed to, luckily this one dries out rashes very well because it does not have anti-itch cream in it. I'm grateful the company that made this brand knows what they're doing and left out greasy cream because the point of this is supposed to be drying, it dries out rashes very very, and dries out pimples.

Some past reviews have bemoaned the lack of a seal on the bottle, but I would like to reassure current buyers that in fact the bottle does arrive with a seal on it. Some criticisms have noted that the lotion is watery. Well, yes, it is kind of watery, but I don’t find that a problem. It still covers the area with enough lotion. A thin coating dries more quickly. You may find that dabbing it on provides better coverage than rubbing it on. What I like is that there are no extraneous additives. When you are choosing among different brands of calamine, you should check the ingredients. This one lists just calamine and zinc oxide. There are also versions with an external analgesic added, which I have not tried but may be worth trying.

You know some stuff you just can't improve on and calamine lotion is one of those things. I got this for a really great price here on Amazon too try to soothe a rash from my seatbelt. I drive long distances and spend a lot of time in the vehicle and tried different ointments and finally remembered the old standby. I put this calamine lotion on after the shower for just a couple days in a row and it allowed my skin to heal and for the rash to go away. Now I use this every few days in the area that was irritated and it works wonders. This came fast and fresh and did the trick!

The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my belly bc I have been waking up so itchy at night that I wake up to me scratching tummy. I apply lightweight lotion, body oil, and this one last. It works perfect for sleeping although it does wear off by morning. I took away two stars just bc I don’t care for the texture and you can feel the layers after awhile. It’s very watery and you have to really shake it to mix the product up before applying. It has a slight waxy smell which doesn’t bother me much, but it may others. I only apply at night bc it leaves layers on my skin that if you scratch slightly, it will end up under your nails.

It’s a bit thin but way cheaper than the corner drug store. Great to have on hand just in case.
