Q: Will this work if using Google Slides?

Yes I've used it with Power Point, google slides and prezi hope this helps

Q: What do I have to do step by step? I know it has power as the red laser pointer works. When I click present slides the remote does not move anything.

Firstly have you connect the usb dongle in the computer. It's at the base of the pointer. Push and click it out then the little usb stick like module you can plug into the computer. It should then automatically work.

Q: Is this product comaptible with windows 7?

I have a Toshiba running Windows 7 and this new model (blue writing) did not work at all. The OLD model (white writing) worked just fine.

Q: It appears to have slight problems if you are not in direct line of sight with computer. Will it work with a smartboard where PC is behind the board?

You don't need line of sight to the computer if the computer is connected to a digital projector and displayed on a screen. All the Kensington needs is for the signal between the Kensington and the transmitter to get through - doesn't matter if the computer is in an enclosure as it doesn't need line of sight

I thought there was no dongle.... but it is there !

I thought this item shipped without a USB dongle. In fact it is in the battery back plate and easy to miss (that is why I am docking a star).
