Great first word and easy to follow

As I am homeschooling and my French to say the least is... interesting. This book has made a HUGE difference. The word lists are easy to read and the picture comics fun to look at. The language is all child friendly and for pronunciations we simply use Google Translate along side on the computer. (NOT a plug, I have no affiliation with Google or any of the companies) but it has helped when I can't work out how to say some words! The book is easy to read, good sections, from starting to introduce yourself, age and basic 'how are you?' And leads on to time, places to months and seasons. There are re fresher puzzles and quizzes dotted about, testing areas and questions with a big glossary of all the French words at the back.Unlike a lot of 'Learn French' books, that give the child hundreds of words, this one tells them how to put it all into sentences, and the correct of using you, them, we, us, she, he and lots ect... So they can start learning all the joining words and the where, why, how, where and communicate properly in French.

Having recently started my new job at Eurostar Ltd, I thought it would be a good idea to brush up on my French. After extensively searching Amazon for a book that is not only fun to read but also 'user friendly', I embarked upon 'French for Beginners'. The page preview tool gave me a gist of the book and the price encouraged me to give it a try.After waiting 3-4 working days for my delivery, I was impressed by my purchase. The book pretty much cuts to the point and is a good starting tool for those seeking to learn French. The illustrations make it easier and more exciting read, and the book generally has a good flow to it. The only faults to point out are that the illustrations are a little congested on certain pages and the size of the book (A4) means it is annoying to travel with.All in all, I find this a very good revision tool for those seeking to learn basic French.

For beginners it berfect

Bought this book as I didn't want to spend loads of money on the famous rosetta stone and it's just like being at school. The book may be laid out for children but it provides easy grammatical explanations along with tests so you can keep track of your progress as you go along. Easy to use and the book also points to a website where you can hear how to pronounce words - essential if you've never learnt French before.Highly recommended!!

This book was bought for my 8 year old granddaughter, who is just starting to learn French, to be used to in conjunction with "French Ages 5-7". Combined use of the two together has proved extremely beneficial in her use and understanding of the language. The layout was user friendly. The teaching method was fun, and easy to follow.

Great illustrations and use of humour to encourage learning. This is best used with children, since it employs the Tu form only. For adult learners, the Vous form should be covered too. But adults enjoy the situations, which are well chosen, and appreciate the clear labeling, which facilitates vocabulary acquisition.
