The container didn't come with a seal and I initially thought that the pads were dried out, but they're actually soaked in some sort of oily substance and are sufficiently saturated.I've been able to completely remove different types of nail polish (not gel). Cremes are the easiest, even with two layers and a top coat. The three layers of flakie polish and two layers of glitter polish that I had on were more challenging and took some time with a lot (a lot!) of rubbing, but I managed. Generally, you'll be spending a bit of extra time removing your nail polish, but these pads get the job done.It is possible to use just one pad for two hands of creme polish if you're in a bind, but the pad becomes oversaturated and you end up smearing polish around. I wouldn't bother being frugal with any flakie or glitter polishes, though; that'll just be frustrating.Your hands feel a bit greasy afterwards, but wash with soap and you're fine. I also noticed a weird chalky residue on my nails and skin after washing my hands. It was a little stubborn to remove, but with hand washing throughout the day, the residue eventually came off. It might've been related to an interaction with one kind of polish I had, as this didn't happen all the time.Overall, these pads are a good alternative when travelling if you don't, or can't, bring liquid nail polish remover with you.
