Lovely machine, lovely coffee!
After 1 month's use, still very pleased with this purchase. The machine looks very elegant, and came attractively boxed and well-protected in a presentation pack, with a sample pack of 14 Nespresso pods of various flavours. We have experimented with these and other brands and strengths of compatible pod, and decided on our favourite (Sainsbury's Columbian - about half the price of the Nespresso branded pods). There are 2 settings for the quantity of coffee dispensed - espresso (about 40ml) and lungo (about 110ml). We prefer the latter. These are controlled by the 2 buttons on top of the machine, which also switch on the machine, and have further functions when cleaning etc. The instructions also say you can adjust the serving amounts to your taste using the buttons, but for us the factory settings seem fine. Operation is simple and straightforward. . After ensuring the water reservoir is sufficiently full, you press the LH button on top of the machine to switch on, and after a very short wait, the flashing light goes full on, indicating the machine is ready to use. Open the top lever, and drop a fresh pod in. Don't forget to put a cup under the dispenser! Closing the lever (a firm push) sets the pod and perforates it so the water can be forced through. You then select the size of serving desired - LH button for espresso, RH button for lungo. The drink is dispensed immediately (takes about 10 seconds for the lungo). We were aware of some comments that the serving was not hot enough, but it seems fine to us (who wants to burn their mouth on a scalding drink?). The used pod drops into a removable drawer underneath when you next open the lever, leaving the mechanism free for the next pod. The drawer holds about 8-10 used pods, and is easy to remove, empty and clean when full. The transparent removable water receptacle at the back of the machine holds plenty of water for 10 lungo servings, and it is easy to see when a top-up is needed. We are using bottled water because the tap water in our area is particularly hard, and we want to reduce limescaling. Volvic seems to be widely recommended, as it is said to have the right balance of minerals for taste. All in all, a very worthwhile purchase. Can't comment on reliability, or life, but we are very pleased so far. It's not the cheapesat coffee machine, but also isn't by any means the most expensive, and the Amazon price was very good for this model.

High quality coffee machine
Excellent coffee machine, came with a sample set of 7, all produced a rich smooth coffee. Fairly quiet in operation (it’s just a normal “Brrrrr!” sound but it’s not intrusive as some make out). As soon as it arrived I filled out the online form for the 100 free capsules (you do make a small first order of 10, which is £4.10 then they add an extra 100 - £48 worth free). They came the next day!! What excellent service is that? Very attractive and well made unit. The chrome parts are metal and not plastic! Highly recommended coffee machine.

Top quality machine
After researching coffe machines for what seemed ages I finally opted for the Citiz. I’m so pleased I did. It makes a lovely cup of coffee. It heats the water very quicky. The quality of the coffe is perfect. The Crema makes the coffee look even more inviting. The two size setting is very good with the option to programme it is useful too. I recieved the 100 free Nespresso pods the next day after registering the product.

Good Coffee maker, but misleading offer
It's virtually impossible to get the free 100 pods, it claims in the listing, I tried, giving registration too. It's not user friendly, and you have to go through hoops to get anywhere, I gave up trying. However, the machine itself is good, and works well.

Amazing results
What a brilliant little machine this is. I actually downgraded from a Vertuo machine as I wanted more freedom in my coffee choices. Being able to buy Costa, Caffe Nero, illy, Starbucks and many other high street brands was a big draw for me. Also, Amazon has a very decent espresso house blend for about 19p a cup. Personally I think the Citiz produces better coffee than any mid range Vertuo machine. I’ve owned two of them but I really started to dislike the fake crème it made. The Citiz not only makes a better Espresso but also a fantastic Lungo. I use the Starbucks Lungo as the base for my milky coffees and it’s perfect. Another plus is the descaling. Many manufacturers over complicate this process, and while it doesn’t have a descaling button, it’s very simple with this De’Longhi machine. If you have a small kitchen or countertop the Citiz is a great option. It’s compact and incredibly easy to use. I went for the pink version to match the red tones in my kitchen. It’s a lot brighter pink than the Amazon images. I would absolutely recommend the Citiz to anyone who enjoys high street coffee.

BUY THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!! The Clean Green coffee machine. Edit:25.8.2020
I already have a dolce gusto coffee pod machine and was happy with it but had a HUGE guilt trip at all the plastic pods I was using. I found out that Nespresso have a recycling scheme where they give you a pre-paid bag that you simply drop off at a local shop and they recycle the aluminium capsules. Seeing the Amazon offer I took the plunge and got a frother at the same time. Wow what a difference! The coffee is 100 times nicer. Loads of different types to choose from to find your favorite. Ive also tried 3rd Party pods but they aren't as good IMO. The machine makes drinks in two sizes a 40ml espresso and a 110ml lungo. Simple pod in and press your choice. If you think this is too much or too little you have a choice to program a button to your desired amount. But its the rest of the design that I love. Size. The thin so it takes less room on my top but I made this bigger by buying an underneath pod holder. Drip tray. Simple to pop in and out with a chrome easy clean grill. Cup height adjuster so pretty much anything can be used. But the BIG one compared with the Dolce Gusto is the pod container. They drop in a bin so you get ten cups before you need to empty it into the recycling bag and pour the little bit of liquid down the sink. The DG I had to find a home for the dripping pods in a bowl. So a Clean Green brilliant coffee machine Edit 25 AUG 2020: having lived with this for some time I STILL give it 5 stars. Why. It looks as good as new quality wipe down plastic and good solid metal grills that clean up. Water reservoir is perfect as you can sneak in 1 ltr so 2 shots on a 2ltr bottle (We have VERY hard water) makes fantastic coffee with so many choices. Recycle scheme works will. Fill up the bag and drop at the local news agent. I also had a mini as I wanted a second one for my office. Bad move send back and got another Citz. As I said BUY THIS ONE
